The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.

The preceding was sent to me via PM by, myself somehow. I talked to Skydog about it and he hasn't heard of any such occurences happening before and so I just figured I'd ask if any other FOFC'er out there had something wierd like this happen. I've been logged on myself all afternoon and haven't stepped away so I don't see how this could have happened. According to the log, it was sent to me at 4:41pm this afternoon.
Any ideas?

Hmm... interesting. Did you log on using someone else's computer perhaps? That's the only thing I can think of.
Maybe you were so drunk out of your mind you forgot you did it.

I can say that things have not been well in my life latley, but this at least for the moment this gives me a reason to look at things a little diffrently.

I mean, I guess that is possible. I just find it wierd someone would go out of their way to private message myself with some random quote.
(Though the quote does seem to apply somewhat to my current situations in life, arguably)

I think it has to be from someone who had access to a computer you used, particularly based on your last comment.

Sounds like the most likely scenario.
But even then I wonder if I'm justifying the random quote with me saying it could apply to me. Like I'm fishing for answers. I don't know. Just wierd.

Here's a possible starting point -- who do you know that could access a computer you might have used AND that would read self-help books like The Road Less Traveled?

I've accessed FOFC from two other places within the past week. One from my girlfriend's apartment and one from my best friends. None really even know what FOFC is (though the gf knows its some sports forum I'm always at.)
I doubt she'd know what a PM even is much less send one. But I'm going to find out.

and the PM was sent at 4:41pm today. I've been logged on all afternoon (day off) and even I don't start drinking that early.

Was there a link in the IM? Did you click it?

No link. Just the quote.

Semi tongue in cheek, but have you ever experienced blackouts of any sort? Any solid knocks to the head (good ole concussions)?
Also, what standard protocol is on the board for being logged on in two places at once? Does the second login end the first login's session? If so then that definitely narrows down the list of possible locations the message could have originated from. I'm pretty sure that's not how the board is set up, but maybe you could get an admin to check what IP's logged into your account at around that time (if possible).

I'm logged in on two different computers right now.Same. Heck, maybe three. I'm not sure if it really logs me out of my home computer when I leave the browser open all day, as I did today.

Future Neuq came back and sent you the message, warning you to not let yourself get depressed over your current situation. Cause if you do, you're gonna fuck up your life, and future Neuq ain't a happy camper.
Or somethin'...
even I don't start drinking that early.
I am extremely dissapointed by this quote.
