The obvious 'I know nothing of the release date or any questions involving the future games' precusor withstanding. A survery to get a gage on peoples interest concerning the current FOF/TCY versions, and what they'd like to see in the future. Obviously some people are going to support Jim regardless, but ideally would be going for useful input 'for sure buys' aside -

i prefer to answer these questions in a little broader fashion.
fof was one of the most rewarding sim games i have ever played but as the game "improved" i found it less fun to play. i really got tired of dealing with the salary cap and the coaching aspects of the game did not improve enough to offset the salary cap issues. i think if fof became more of an in-game coaching experience i would be back playing it. a good combo would be a gm game like fof with a coaching experience like action pc. i think if the game was deeper on the coaching level i would become more well versed with the salary cap factors. this game would not take a great deal to be played by me again.
tcy was and is one of the least rewarding sim experiences i have encountered. it is without a doubt the most tedious sim game i have ever played. i don't care how realistic a game is there has to be some fun involved and tcy is a complete zero on the fun factor level.
college football is by far my most favorite sport but something is lost when it is transported to a sim game. i play bowl-bound and while i find it a much better game than tcy i still find it somewhat tedious as well.

Interesting thread.
#1 Yes, absolutely.
#2 Sim engine, with the almanac very close.
#3 Players interactions.
#4 Gameplanning. In fact, I don't do it.
#5 Players personalities, of course!!!
#6 FOF 2004
#7 I think so.
#8 No, just because I'm not in a MP league. I really like playing solo careers. Anyway, I could join one in the future.
#9 Yes.
#10 Recruiting.
#11 More, and deeper management of your program. Roster management also.
#12 The time allocation thing.
#13 I really don't know at the moment.
#14 Yes.
#15 I'd prefer to have a TCY2006, but I'm 99% sure I'd buy a FOF2006.

#1 Are you satisfied with your FOF2k4 purchase? If not, why? (If you did not purchase it, why not?)
Yes.
#2 What feature stands out as the most appealing to you (sim engine, the draft, free agency, player interaction, ect) in FOF2k4?
Sim engine.
#3 What current feature in FOF2k4 would you most like to see improved? (feel free to explain how)
Sim engine (yes, sim engine again). I'm big on multiplayer and watch my games, so I'd like to see the engine tightened up even more so. Otherwise, I'd like to see more complex team chemistry (the astrology has got to go).
#4 What part of FOF2k4 do you find the most tedious?
Staff hiring in MP leagues. The current system is brutal.
#5 One new addition that would make you give the next FOF strong consideration for purchase?
Can't see myself not buying the next iteration unless it only had new rosters or something.
#6 Which version of FOF have you played the most?
FOF 2004 (multiplayer duh)
#7 Do you feel FOF adaquately captures the feel of being a professional football GM?
Sure. There's always room for improvement though. :)
#8 Do you use FOF2k4's multiplayer components? If not, why?
Yep.

FOF1 - Yes
FOF2 - I love watching my team go through the season; win streaks, losing streaks add to the story in my head.
FOF3 - I would like to see more team movement, expansion and ownership change that could turn around a franchise. It is sad to play out 50 75 years and see that the Cardinals are still terrible and always have been. I would like to see a setting maybe for player movement, a number between 0 and 200 that helps determine how long player contracts are, how aggressively teams pursue their own free agents and how willing players are to resign with their current team. I would also like it to be easier to have multiple universes.
FOF4 - Nothing I don't bring on myself
FOF5 - Custom leagues, expansion settings, more realistic modelling of player contracts.
FOF6 - FOF2004
FOF7 - It does more than anything else I have ever done
FOF8 - no, afraid of mixing up universes, sucking and time commitment
TCY9 - Yes
TCY10 - Watching the season play out
TCY11 - Academics affecting recruiting success so much, not sure if this changed since early version I played the most
TCY12 - Time management
TCY13 - not sure, have not played in quite a while
TCY14 - probably not, see FOF8
TCY15 - depends on new features,

FOF
#1 Yes
#2 The sim engine.
#3 From the current features, I'd like to see the draft improved even further. I'd also like to see smarter FA signing algorithms. I think there are still quite a few loopholes that MP leagues have to watch out for. As far as features, I'd like to see added, I would say more player-player interaction and player-coach interaction. Generally, more personality modeling to give players a "more lifelike appeal." I'd also like to see some sort of 2D representation of the game some day, but realize that is several years off probably.
#4 Exhibition Season
#5 Improved player modeling or 2D representation. Also, MP league import capability
#6 The latest version
#7 Yes
#8 Yes.
TCY
#9 Yes, I got many hours of enjoyment out of it.
#10 Watching the team I built perform.
#11 I'd like to see academics be less of a factor. It was too easy to build up a team based on academic success.
#12 Setting the various time sliders (although the patch which added global settings for this helped greatly.)
#13 MP
#14 Yes, as long as it was a group of good guys.
#15 TCY 2006. The latest version of FOF is so solid, and I think TCY is showing its age more. However, if a significantly improved version of FOF came out, I'd very likely buy that as well.

FOF
#1 Are you satisfied with your FOF2k4 purchase? If not, why? (If you did not purchase it, why not?)
Yes, very.
#2 What feature stands out as the most appealing to you (sim engine, the draft, free agency, player interaction, ect) in FOF2k4?
The draft, I really enjoy trying to figure out which players will be great and who will be average or a total bust. It's alot of fun when you have two players your looking over with similar bars but they have different "stats" (ie: 40 time, % potential...) and then finding out which one you should have picked later. This function has been made incredibly better by all the time spent making sure that TCY drafts work properly.
#3 What current feature in FOF2k4 would you most like to see improved? (feel free to explain how)
Player use, I'd like to be able to set pass rush linebackers and see more specialist roles in general. Also I'd like to see contract negotiations for current (non draftees) revamped because on the highest levels its pretty much pay them what they want and that's it. I'd almost like to see it the same way as the draft where they have a few options, 1 year deal, a couple of mid range deals and a long term deal just to get rid of the hastle of trying to figure out what they want if you want to increase or decrease the term of a deal.
#4 What part of FOF2k4 do you find the most tedious?
Gameplanning, it's not too bad and I like the way it is implemented, it's just tedious. Also signing players as eluded to in 4.
#5 One new addition that would make you give the next FOF strong consideration for purchase?
League customization, I'd love to see a way to really customize leagues like OOTP. Along those lines more customization with regards to setting stadiums and adding new cities. Also I'd like to see the team names hard coded into each save so that if I change say New Englands Nickname to Hound Dogs in one save it will still be Patriots in another.
#6 Which version of FOF have you played the most?
2004
#7 Do you feel FOF adaquately captures the feel of being a professional football GM?
Yup, probably a lot less frustrating too.
#8 Do you use FOF2k4's multiplayer components? If not, why?
No, just don't have the time available to commit.
TCY
#9 Are you satisfied with your TCY purchase? If not, why? (If you did not purchase it, why not?)
Yes
#10 What part of TCY do you enjoy the most?
Exporting the drafts to FOF 2004.
#11 What current part of TCY would you most like to see improved?
Time Management, I think it should have customizable componants so we can set our own rules ie: have several lines that are like this: If _____ is ______ then set _______ to _______. Where possible answers would be like, intelligence, less, study hall to 30 or something like that.
#12 What do you find most tedious in TCY?
Time Management.
#13 What feature would you most like to see added to TCY?
Canada in recruiting, something to provide a little more involvement in the game.
#14 Would you play TCY Multiplayer?
Probably not.
#15 Which would you most likely purchase FOF2006, or TCY2006?
TCY 2006 since I'm happier with FOF2004 then I am with TCY.
