I have finally broken down and decided to post about my NE Oklahoma Sidekicks.
I must say, I got my team in late December as many of you did and I don't think I've ever been so addicted to a game. Here we go!

Other than maybe buying a few inad middies to train, we're done with the transfer market for the year unless we pull an exceptional youth.
Our team has solid talent, now we just have to improve on our form and we should win V.111 hands down next season.

Next seasons goals include winning V.111 and getting promoted without having to play a qualification match.

Our second goal is to train our midfield and also hope that their form increases.

Goal #3 next season is for us to improve on our defensive talent. We have a young, talented central defender, but still need one more CD and a Wingback to play our 3-5-2.

Goal #4 is for us to improve our goalkeeping one way or another. Our Keeper is only getting 1 1/2 stars EVERY match. If he improves on his form, we'll be fine. If not, he'll be on his way out because I'm not interrupting my playmaking training over the course of this season and the next to train him.

#5 NE Oklahoma Sidekicks - Goals Scored, 10 - Goals Allowed, 12 ---- Record: 2 - 3 - 0

Date: 1/20/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594033
Arena: Will Brown Arena
Weather: All-day Shower
Attendance: 7765

The Match:

Due to an all-day shower, 7765 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Will Brown Arena. Sidekicks tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Luginbühl - Johnson, Thomasson, Thompson - Needham, Henning, Connor, Andersson, Valijero - Rossi, Perez.

Wannabes had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Lineup: Boudreau - Anderson, Jones, Chacon - Hull, Law, Bethea, Mclain - Benoit, Baker, Mallory.

Palmer Needham was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Keith Perez managed to kick one of them into 1 - 0 in the 20:th minute. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Sidekicks lead up with 2 - 0. Keith Perez finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. By now Sidekicks were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Ned Connor almost managed to score another goal for Sidekicks, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. Danél Valijero of Sidekicks received a yellow card in the 38:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 42 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Sidekicks. However, Alexander Boudreau made a spectacular save. Wannabes´s Richard Anderson refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 44:th minute. Halftime score was 2 - 0. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Sidekicks, with an impressive 57 percent possession of the ball.

Jan Thomasson received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 56:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. Wannabes fought on and, in the 62nd minute Rodney Bethea was able to reply with 2 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side finished off by an incredibly clever chip. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser in the 71st minute after a good combination down the middle, but as Wayne Law was to put closure on the raid he couldn´t deliver a shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. Visitors Eric Baker was alert on a play coming in from the left, making the score a tie at 2 - 2 in the 74:th minute. Wannabes held the ball, with a clear [b]58 percent possession rate.

Sidekicks´s best player was Jan Thomasson. Ned Connor was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Wannabes player was without a doubt Frederick Hull. Sidney Chacon on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.

I actually had a bad feeling that we would get beat, so I can't say that I'm all too disappointed.

Next up on the schedule is the 2nd game of our home and home in the FOFC Cup with the Michigan Moon Shine who are owned by our own DeToxRoxDVHStyle.
We won the first game 6 - 0.

We will be trying out the 4-5-1 for the first time. It may not be real pretty as our experience has dwindled down to disatrous with this formation.

We don't have many subs, but we will play as many as possible.

Our style of play is yet to be determined.

I am contemplating playing my backup Keeper, Christian Dewitt for the first time since the arrival of Anselm Luginbühl to the team.

I like seeing things like this on my team's homepage:

"The team is undefeated for 3 competition games"

Here are the League Standings:

Series: V.111 (8484)

Country: USA
Level: 5 out of 5

Team Played Goals Points
1. Man U Wannabes 6 30 - 8 16

2. RN United 6 21 - 3 15
3. Raging Chimbelinas 6 16 - 11 12
4. Tetsaiga 6 20 - 17 9
5. NE Oklahoma Sidekic 6 12 - 14 7
6. Los Rudos 6 15 - 20 7
7. bob killas 6 1 - 27 3
8. Kandy Kanez 6 3 - 18 1

Next up we have a Home and Home with bob killas.

I have a question hopefully someone can answer. Ok, bob killas, is a VERY inactive team, they have sold all their players.

Now Los Rudos and Kandy Kanez are new teams as of today.

My question, since bob killas doesn't have any players, they obviously don't have the have the minimum amount of players of 9, they they have to forfeit 5-0.

Finally, the question, do I not get training for the game if the game is forfeited to me?

LAST ROUND

Kandy Kanez - Los Rudos 2 - 2
NE Oklahoma S - Man U Wannabe 2 - 2
RN United - Raging Chimbe 3 - 0
Tetsaiga - bob killas 5 - 0

Meet the newest Sidekick!

Conny Stensson (7758620)
17 years, passable form, healthy

A controversial person who is tranquil and dishonest.
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities.

Nationality: Sverige
Assessed value: 74 000 US$
Wage: 1 008 US$/week including 20% Bonus
Owner: NE Oklahoma Sidekicks
Warnings: 0

Stamina: passable Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: inadequate
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: wretched

Career Goals: 0
Career Hattricks: 0
League goals this season: 0
Cup goals this season: 0

Good form, good stamina, and has decent passing and defensive skills. He is currently only inadaquate in playmaking, but that's ok, because that's what I'm training. And since he is only 17, that's the biggest bonus.

Owner Will Brown had the following to say about the newest memeber of the Sidekicks, "We are very fortunate to have been able to snag a player of Conny's talent and potential for only $90,000. We were willing to goto $100,000 for him, so that was a nice suprise. Normally we wouldn't spend this much on a so-called, "inadaquate player", but Conny has great potential, is well-rounded and is as young as they come as he was just pulled up three days ago. We're not looking for much from Conny, just that eventually improves to outstanding in the area of playmaking."

Michigan Moon Shine - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks 4 - 2

Date: 1/23/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4952557
Arena: Michigan Moon Shine Arena
Crowd: 389

389 spectators arrived at Michigan Moon Shine Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Michigan had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Schafer - Justice, Humphries, Hammons, Moon - Bateman, Álvarez Sánchez, Simarro - Saint-Onge, Langley, Cho.

Sidekicks started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Dewitt - Torres, Johnson, Thomasson, Winters - Wilson, Stclair, Connor, Stensson, Valijero - Rossi.

After a fine move down the middle Tanausu Álvarez Sánchez nearly gave the home side one up in the 7:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. 22 minutes into the game Carroll Moon had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Rick Kraus. Sidekicks took the lead in the games 23rd minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Ned Connor was the scorer. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 1. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 52 percent possession rate.

Michigan´s Nathan Justice made an attempt at equalising in the 47:th minute, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post, the defense clearing the rebound. Sidekicks seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. William Saint-Onge put his head to a well placed ball lifted in from the left and scored the 1 - 1 goal in the 51st minute. The referee showed Sidekickss Danél Valijero the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the to 78:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Sidekicks´s Julius Stclair being carried off the pitch and replaced by Archibaldo García. The 82nd minute saw the home team take a 2 - 1 lead after a leak in the visitors right side defense. Scorer for Michigan was Rick Kraus. Michigan's Tanausu Álvarez Sánchez scored 3 - 1 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. Sidekicks reduced in the 84:th minute to 3 - 2 as Ned Connor easily chipped the ball past the home sides keeper on a play from the right. Michigan put their lead ahead another goal as Gerald Langley struck home the 4 - 2 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. Michigans Rick Kraus got himself booked after a foul. Michigan, bringing the final ball possession rate to 56 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Michigan player was without a doubt Gerald Langley. Rick Kraus was a disappointment, however. Most important Sidekicks player was Jan Thomasson. Christian Dewitt was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 2.

Good game to the Moonshine.

Game Notes

11/23/03 - Michigan Moon Shine - Friendly
- FOFC Cup, Round 1

-The Sidekicks advance after beating the Moonshine 6-0 in the first game.
-Will now play the Galesburg Avengers, owned by FOFC's Coffee Warlord.
-Forward/Mid/Def Julius StClair was injured during the friendly with the Moonshine and will be out approx. 4 weeks. This is why we played backups.
-Backup Keeper Christian Dewitt got his first playing team as of lately. Don't look for it to continue.
-Sidekicks started 5-7 backups, according to the lineup.
-Newcomer Conny Stennson got 2* at Mid.
-Most stars went to Def. Jan Thomasson and newcomer Forward Robert Rossi. Both received 2 and a half*.

Rumors

-While the team is confident about their 2nd round matchup with the Avengers, their offensive attack could cause severe problems.
-The Avengers are a very similar team to the Sidekicks.
-This weeks lineup for the league game and the match against the Avengers could be nearly identical.
-The team isn't quite comfortable enough with the 4-5-1 and is expected to play the 3-5-2.
-Forward Archibaldo Garcia will be on the market soon as will goalie Christian Dewitt.
-Our next league match opponent is inactive and only has 5 players. So we will win by a forfeit of 5-0. GM-George informed the team that they can run around the field so that the will get training, so we will:)
-We play bob killas the next two weeks.
-After the next two games, the team will be at least 4th in V.111, very possibly 3rd.
-The team is starting to feel very confident about promotion next year.

Sidekicks Press Release-

"After much debating, I have come to the conclusion that our team has been slacking off far too much during recent practices. In light of this event, we have decided to implement a training program for our players that we have them focusing on the game in no time. I am proud to present the hiring of Helga, the teams new assistant trainer who has decided to crank the level of training intensity up to 100%.

Helga doesn't speak very much English, however. At the time being the only phrases she can utter are "Yes, master" and "Whatever you want master." We are currently taking suggestions for her 3rd English phrase.

Any questions?"

The 3407 spectators at bob killas Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. killas tactics involved an interesting 0-0-0 combination. The following players had been chosen: Fitzgerald - - - .

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Luginbühl - Johnson, Thomasson, Thompson - Needham, Henning, Andersson, Stensson, Rossi - Tuvin, Perez.

The home side had to concede to a walkover since they had failed to produce a squad of at least 9 players. The match ends 0 - 5.

On one hand, it's very frustrating that my players didn't get the opportunity to play a league match this week.
On the other hand, we come out with the 5-0 win, training for the week, and no chance of injury.
Of course, everyone got disastrous ratings because no one played.

-We won by forfeit 5-0 over league cellar dweller bob killas.
-We play bob killas next week as well.
-Next game on the schedule is our 2nd Round FOFC Cup game with the mighty:rolleyes: Galesburg Avengers.;)
-I'm now going to quit acting like there is something to write about this game:)

Rumors

-The team has been very quiet about their preperations for the 2 game Round with the Galesburg Avengers. Supposibly they are working on an "uncoventional" formation that should take them by suprise.
-Rumor has it that IM Archibaldo Garcia has been put on the transfer list once more. This time for a reported $1,000.
-Also regarding the transfer list is backup Keeper Christian Dewitt. Sources say that the team doesn't feel it necessary to have him on the team. An anonymous source had this to say about the potential leaving of Dewitt, "Good ridance! We never needed him anyways, he's a worthless piece a crap. Good ridance." He is also reportedly on the market for $1,000.
-Owner Will Brown is unsure about what to do with his forward situation. Our sources have gathered that he is somehow planning to play all four of his crunk scorers. This would be an unprecedented move for the Sidekicks.
-Rumor has it that the Sidekicks are going to use the mighty:rolleyes: Avengers as trashy welcome mats after their upcoming game. Oh, how did that find its way on here.:)

Sweet! We'll start renovating the VIP suite immediately! Would you like to have the regular Toad repellant, or extra strength?

It took me one full season to advance, as I came in with four games left in my first season.

The interesting thing about your bob killas is that they somehow won a match. Without looking up what happened, I'd have to wonder if they guy just thought the game stunk after he lost a match or two.

I'd love to have someone do that in my D4 series. Alas, 5 or 6 of our teams actually seem competitive. The other two or laughing stocks.

NE Oklahoma Sidekicks - Galesburg Avengers

Date: 1/30/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4963210
Arena: Will Brown Arena
Crowd: 852

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 852 to Will Brown Arena. Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Luginbühl - Connor, Johnson, Thomasson, Thompson - Needham, Rossi, Andersson, Stensson, Valijero - Tuvin.

Galesburg tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Thomas - Schrader, Andres Alvaro, Valadez - Maddox, Hammond, Matson, Poulin, Croom-Carter - Mosley, Street.

One of many good passes from Danél Valijero at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Patrik Tuvin, scoring for Sidekicks to 1 - 0. After an industrious effort down the middle Donald Thompson could have closed the game off in the 20:th minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Sidekicks´s Patrik Tuvin putting the lead up to 2 - 0. Conny Stensson increased Sidekickss lead to 3 - 0 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. The structure of the game started to change as Sidekicks decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Patrik Tuvin squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 33rd minute, asserting the lead to 4 - 0. At that, Patrik Tuvin was noted down for a hat trick. Sidekicks appeared unsure on how to play. The teams went for a half-time break at 4 - 0. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 64 percent possession rate.

During the break Sidekicks´s coach went through the teams new tactics yet again. Patrik Tuvin increased Sidekickss lead to 5 - 0 by putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. Sidekicks seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Sidekicks put their lead ahead another goal as Göran Andersson struck home the 6 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. With 77 minutes played Patrik Tuvin could have brought this one home for Sidekicks, had his hooked ball gone in, but it went just a bit too high. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Sidekicks lead up with 7 - 0. Conny Stensson finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Galesburg´s Daryl Mosley got himself booked. Sidekicks, bringing the final ball possession rate to 78 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Sidekicks player was without a doubt Jan Thomasson. Ned Connor was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Galesburg player was without a doubt Daryl Mosley. Paofai Croom-Carter was a disappointment, however. The match ends 7 - 0.

Quite simple really. My midfield were all trainees (I'm training Playmaking), aside from 1 person. Had a scrub forward and a scrub defender in there as well. They're competant, but nowhere NEAR as effective as my main force.

I'm kinda surprised how brutal the score was. Figured we at least had a shot.

Welp, guess I'll just have to win 10-0 at home now. :)

Ok, I need some opinions here. Here's the deal, I have four forwards. I don't need four forwards, I run a 3-5-2 during league games and either a 3-5-2 or a 4-5-1 for friendlies. So obviusly, I don't need all four of these guys.

I don't have a shot at winning the league this year, so really I'm building towards next year.

I train playmaking, so regardless of age, their scoring ratings will not go up.

Here are the guys up for debate, and I might even get rid of two of them as I have a way to shift my lineup around this season in case 1 of the 2 gets injured:

Keith Perez
92 000 US$, 28 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and disastrous leadership abilities [Powerful]

Winger: passable Defending: inadequate

Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities [Quick]

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: passable
Winger: inadequate Defending: disastrous
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: passable

Patrik Tuvin
46 000 US$, 21 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: passable Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: weak
Winger: weak Defending: poor
Scoring: passable Set Pieces: poor

Donny Winters
35 000 US$, 23 years, passable form
Has wretched experience and poor leadership abilities

Stamina: inadequate Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: weak
Winger: weak Defending: weak
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: poor

One other possibility I just saw for the first time this season, should I put Donny Winters at midfield? Especially seeing as how he would fetch the least right now on the transfer market as a forward.

Please comment as I would like to make a decision soon, I have also put up a poll in the dynasty polls section. Here is the poll. (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4839) Thanks.

And we of course won our game by forfeit.

We should be able to come out of this game with a win as we will be going MOTS, but anything could happen to change that.

Wish I could win a game by forfeit! Instead I have to pull a Horned and use 6 mids to defeat the Fighting Illini 4-1. My team got confused twice in one half!

Probably the most confusing part was that I didn't know I was playing it until I saw George Flores step up to the midfield instead of playing wingback.

I about cried because I thought that I would lose the game because of it.

From the HattriX-Files:

"Get the most out of it for your squad...
You also want to choose a formation that benefits your training choice the most.
For keeper, it doesn't matter, you can only play 2 keepers a week, so you can only train 2
For scoring, generally teams play 3-4-3 and have 6 trainees, one set playing Sunday, the other on Wednesday.
Playmaking would be best with 5 midfielders (3 inners).
Defending, 5-4-1 is the best (10 defenders), but 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 are also used...
and so on...
but dont play exaggerated formations like 2-7-1 to train more players! in this case none of your players will receive any training!
...but which formation is best to win against your next opponent?"

Galesburg Avengers - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

2nd Round of the FOFC CUP - Match #2

Date: 2/6/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4983780
Arena: Vengeance Field
Crowd: 910

A scorching day at Vengeance Field, where 910 spectators were in place for today´s match. Galesburg had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Thomas - Meek, Oskarsson - Valadez, Croom-Carter, Matson, Poulin, Maddox - Pierre, Street, Schrader.

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Luginbühl - Johnson, Parish, Thompson - Wilson, Connor, Winters, Stensson, Valijero - Tuvin, Rossi.

A header from Inge Oskarsson connected with a corner kick after 28 minutes, and the ball ended up with Paul Street of Galesburg who shot the 1-0 goal. Almost all the way down to the corner flag Rodney Valadez somhow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Kurt Maddox who struck for 2 - 0. After this Galesburg lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The away team reduced the score to 2 - 1, as Roberto Rossi struck home, set up well by a play from the left in the 31st minute. Galesburg seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Galesburg lead up with 3 - 1. Johnny Pierre finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. Floyd Meek got left behind when Sidekicks´s Roberto Rossi made a sudden pull forward in the 41st minute, finishing off with a swift strike. 3-2! 43 minutes into the game Sidekicks´s Patrik Tuvin found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 3 - 3. After 45 minutes Sidekicks´s Andy Parish contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Galesburg had obvious problems in finding their positions. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 3. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 62 percent possession rate.

Galesburg -coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized. A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 47:th minute allowed Roberto Rossi to score 3 - 4 for Sidekicks. By then Roberto Rossi was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The away team´s Ned Connor took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 63rd minute increasing Sidekicks´s lead to 3 - 5. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 70:th minute Sidekicks goal, making it 3 - 6. Ned Connor was noted down as the scorer. Galesburg appeared unsure on how to play. In the 73rd minute the visitors put themselves ahead 3 - 7 as Roberto Rossi finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this Sidekicks lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The visitors Ned Connor took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 75:th minute. 3 - 8 for Sidekicks. This third goal made a hat trick for Ned Connor. Danél Valijero of Sidekicks received a yellow card in the 75:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 63 percent possession rate.

Galesburg´s best player was Martin Schrader. However, Floyd Meek made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Sidekicks player was without a doubt Donald Thompson. Andy Parish on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 8.

Not real pleased star wise, but the score is a whole different story. The Avengers jumped out to a 3-1 lead and I thought we were in some serious trouble, but somehow we pulled through.

That 2-5-3 sure seemed to help your central attack, didn't it CW?

The Sidekicks are happy to announce that we will be traveling to South Korea for our friendly on Wednesday. We will be playing The Fellowship FC.

A little info on The Fellowship:

The Fellowship FC (28557)

Country: South Korea
Region: Kyonggi-do
Arena: Barad-Dur (Capacity - 10,000)
Language: English
Series: # 2 in II.4

I honestly don't think we'll have much trouble staying with them. They may beat us, but not by much.

While reading through the team info, I wondered why their team had no recorded transfer transactions. Turns out they are a new as of 1/25/03. He didn't pick up a bad team:

The team is undefeated for 6 competition games and has 6 wins in a row

Yeah, I figured my only chance to dig myself out of the hole was a massive attack. Might of worked, had we not pulled back so damn soon. Bah!

I HATE pulling back.

One thing I have also noticed, whenever there is confusion in the formation, the team that got confused, scores the next goal. Maybe it's just me.

Training Results

Well, I would have to say that this is definitely the most disappointing training results I have recieved so far.

To start off, we didn't have any changes in our playmaking training.

2 Form Increases (2 starters)
6 Form Decreases (3 starters) one starter dropped two levels

9 Value Increases (8 starters)
6 Value Decreases (3 starters)

This was just a pitiful week for us.

Our top defender, Jan Thomasson dropped two form levels, going from Solid to Inadequate. He also dropped $10,000 in value to goto $75,000.

The largest value increase this week goes to Duane Henning who rose $18,000 to settle at $161,000. He is 25 yrs old and I am thinking about selling him.

Our largest value decrease goes to Palmer Needham who dropped $12,000 to end up at $112,000.

#1 Man U Wannabes - #4 NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

Date: 2/10/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594046
Arena: Man U Wannabes Arena
Crowd: 7000

The crowd of 7000 turning up at Man U Wannabes Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Wannabes had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Boudreau - Anderson, Betancourt, Chacon - Hull, Law, Lewis, Parker - Howard, Baker, Mallory.

Sidekicks tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Luginbühl - Thompson, Johnson, Thomasson - Needham, Henning, Andersson, Stensson, Valijero - Rossi, Perez.

Some quick foot work on the left side of the field in the 7:th minute left Sidekicks´s Keith Perez completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. The game was characterized by rough play and many physical challenges. Danél Valijero showed great heart and had a good game. After 32 minutes of game time Keith Perez received an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Alexander Boudreau was in the right place, tipping the ball to a corner. In the games 36:th minute Wannabes´s Jason Howard fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Jason Howard for taking a dive. After 40 minutes Wannabess Frederick Hull had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. Earl Ricks came in instead of him. The visitors Roberto Rossi took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 41st minute. 0 - 2 for Sidekicks. After 41 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Keith Perez who increased Sidekicks´s lead to 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 67 percent possession rate.

In the 54:th minute Wayne Law passed through the guests central line of defense, scoring the 1 - 3 goal. Sidekicks´s Roberto Rossi made it through the home teams defence in the 61st minute, and had only to place the ball in an unguarded goal when the home side´s defender sprang up from the left, clearing the ball on the line. Sidekickss Palmer Needham got himself booked after a foul. Wannabes were forced to a substitution as Wayne Law couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment. Wannabes didn´t give in and in the 71st minute Sidney Chacon was able to put the 2 - 3 goal away after a play from the right. After 75 minutes of play Earl Ricks equalised for Wannabes after an elegant attack from the right. After a fine move down the middle George Yanez nearly gave the home side one up in the 78:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Sidekicks, with an impressive 65 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Wannabes player was Floyd Parker. Ellis Lewis on the other hand, had a terrible day. Sidekicks´s best player was Duane Henning. Anselm Luginbühl on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 3.

Man U Wannabes - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks 3 - 3

The sad thing is, we did in fact MOTS this game. Somehow, somehow, I still don't know how, but we just broke apart in the second half. We still had good possesion of the ball, but something just didn't click. As I said I would, since we didn't win this game, the Sidekicks are now heading towards an overhaul.

Sidekicks, may I introduce you to the transfer list;)

First off is 25 yr old Midfielder, Duane Henning. Henning has been nothing but a positive for the team as he just garnered the teams highest ever rating at 3 stars. He is also the hihest valued player on the team at $161,000. However, the team needs money and I'm betting that someone will snatch him up at his starting price of $161,000, his value. Of not, we will lower the bid next time around. He is a very solid player.

Here is Mr. Henning:

What we hope to obtain from this firesale is to get enough money to aquire a solid keeper. Getting a solid keeper should put us back about $300,000, according to the US market. If I have any money left over, I will obtain a very young (17 or 18) midfielder or 2 for training purposes.

I would also like to expand the stadium, but that isn't within our financial outlook at the time.

Poli
02-10-2003, 09:49 AM
Good luck on the sale! I'd be interested in Perez, but he's too old to train, and scoring is what I train. That, and I just ordered 5000 seats to be added to Raider Field, to give us 21000 overall.

vex
02-10-2003, 04:08 PM
Thanks, but if Perez was about 3 years younger, I'm not sure if I would want to get rid of him anyways.

Also, I now hope that no one feels like bidding on Henning as I have decided that he might be vital to my teams future. However, if he gets a bid or two, I certainly won't be complaining either.

Poli
02-10-2003, 06:25 PM
I certainly hope the best for Perez's bidding. I'm sure you can still fetch a decent dollar for him from teams looking elsewhere for their scoring. By that I mean a team that trains say, playmaking. They'll definitely be looking on the market for a solid scorer.

Unfortunately, I have a five guys 20 and under that I train for scoring...for me I'm looking for playmakers and defenders.

I solid keeper would be nice as well.

Right now, the chances of me getting that solid keeper are looking bleak as not ONE of my players have bid on. If I could just get the minimum bids on all of my players, I would come out with $419K, enough to possibly get me an excellent keeper.

Serin should be a good trainee for us provided his form doesn't go down. We got him on our first bid of $10,000. He is the Sidekicks first native of Turkey. Once we train his playmaking some, and improve on his passing(which we will be doing the next 2 weeks), his value should go up quite a bit. He was pulled from the youth squad 3 days ago.

Where are they now???

This will be a bi-weekly(maybe monthly) feature from now on.

First off is 29yr old John Hester, he was only valued at $13,000 when we sold him to Cuervos FC for $2,000. They then trained him a bit, uping his value to $18,000, then sold him 16 days later for $5,000 to a. d. riestra, an Argentinan team. His last match he received *~ stars as a central defender.

22 yr old Hal Spruill, who we sold to Dynamo Essling for $126,000 when his value was pitiful $42,000, has been trained VERY well as his value is now up to $168,000. I feel very stupid right now. He recieved ** stars in his last match at midfielder.

22yr old Timothé Villeneuve, was sold to Xcaliburs for $190,000 when he was only valued at $81,000. His last match he received **~ stars as a winger. His value is now $162,000.

30 yr old Archibaldo García was sold to AC Stingers on 1/30/03 for $8,000 and he was currently valued at $22,000. It appears as if I finally made a good move as his value is now down to $20,000. He earned *~ stars at midfield last match.

We sold 19 yr old Jeffrey Torres to Knights of Redem for $2,000. His value at the time was $13,000, it remains the same today. They are currently using him as their backup Keeper, lol. Waste of space.

Our last player is Christian Dewitt, who we sold to dreamalcohol for a whole $1,000. His value at the time was $31,000. It is now down to $29,000. He isn't even on the teams linup.

I think he will reach solid defending by the end of the season, or during the off-season, at which point I could probably sell him for around $150,000.

Bearing all this in mind, let me know what you'd be willing to pay and I'll consider listing him for that amount. I cannot, however, be held responsible if a bidding war develops.

If you would rather wait until he goes to solid defending, then we can reconsider it then.

He's a good kid, and was one of my first trainees. But if the price is right, I can be persuaded to let him go.

You may want to reconsider that. If you wait until he pops, that will just raise his market price & generate more interest. The skill of a guy who just popped passable & a guy who's been trained for several weeks are much different.

At the very least, if you negotiate a price now, there'll be less chance of you being outbid.

Admir, is our future. The team that we got him from, Prasloven, is the Slovenija U-20 Coach, although he is quitting HT. Admir is a half a star away from starting on either the U-20 or National Slov team of his choice. For a while it looked like we would get him for the VERY cheap price of $250,000, but with 10 minutes left, the bidding begun between me and 2 other teams. Eventually they gave up, as I had the winning bid of $352,000. This puts us back in the hole($40,000), but well worth it. So someones got to go. We could get rid of Tor Larsson, the passable Keeper we just aquired, but if we are going to train Keepers, then I'll need him. So it looks like I'll be trading one of my extra forwards after all.

Wow, this feels great to get a player of this calibur.

I doubt this guy is a week away from going to solid. My starting keeper is in solid form with solid keeper skill, and is valued at over $500,000. This guy looks like he has a little way to go before he hits excellent.

I gotta side with DK. This guy is in solid form. My passable goalie has shed nearly $50K in value by going from inad form to wretched. Soild form is going to give even more wiggle room than that.

#7 Kandy Kanez - #4 NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

I wasn't expecting this to be close at all. I was actually expecting this one to be about 7-0 for us, so I was suprised for a second about the outcome.

Date: 2/17/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594051
Arena: North Pole (Kandy Kanez)
Crowd: 5317

5317 spectators had come to North Pole this cloudy day. Kandy had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Gilliland - Anthony, Lance, Suggs, Christiaens - Halsted, Molina, Littlejohn, Staley - Alvarado, Slone.

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Podboj - Johnson, Thomasson, Thompson - Needham, Andersson, Stensson, Serin, Winters - Rossi, Perez.

Sidekicks took the lead after 32 minutes with 0 - 1. Göran Andersson placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.

The away team´s Byron Johnson took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 39:th minute increasing Sidekicks´s lead to 0 - 2. Sidekicks´s Palmer Needham received a play slashing through the home side´s defense in the 39:th minute, chipping it past the keeper scoring 0 - 3.

Halftime score was 0 - 3. Kandy held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

Kandy didn´t give in and in the 67:th minute Joaquím Molina was able to put the 1 - 3 goal away after a play from the right.

Kandy, bringing the final ball possession rate to 72 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Kandy player was without a doubt Joaquím Molina. Carlos Anthony on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sidekicks player was without a doubt Admir Podboj. However, Donny Winters made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.

Podboj is as good as I expected, with a little training, I'm sure he'd goto ***~, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to train Keepers with all of our existing problems now.

Our defense is where I'd like it to be. Our midfield needs some serious help. I'm hoping someone will step up during our friendly in Thailand this week. Serin is a good trainee, but not a starter for a couple of seasons.

Perez played as good as usual and if he can get his form back up to solid, he should be able to get that half a star he needs. Rossi played pretty good, but we're putting him on the market as we are financially strapped and Tuvin is actually more productive.

We are still #4 in V.111 and only 1 point ahead of the 5th place team, Tetsaiga, who we play next week.

Little Bee United - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

This weeks friendly was at Thailand as we faced off against Little Bee United, who is #3 in their IV series currently.

Date: 2/19/2003 at 05:30
MatchID: 5028120
Arena: Little Bee United Arena
Crowd: 1938

1938 spectators arrived at Little Bee United Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Little started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. They fielded: Oxin - Si Fah, Broderick, Egri, Börjesson - Chalermchai, Tha kai bok, Anurak, Sumalee - Sinn, Chai Son.

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Larsson - Johnson, Stclair, Thompson - Wilson, Connor, Anduaga, Serin, Winters - Tuvin, Perez.

Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 7:th minute goal by Brandon Broderick for Little, putting them ahead 1 - 0. In the games 9:th minute Byron Johnson scored on a free kick changing direction on the away teams defensive formation, the goalie completely without a chance to save. Sidekicks had evened the score to 1 - 1. Ben Wilson of Sidekicks received a yellow card in the 14:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 32 minutes into the game Patrik Tuvin was a hair´s breadth away from giving Sidekicks the lead. A prompt block by Daniel Oxin saved the home team that time. Little´s Kraisingha Si Fah refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game Ben Wilson had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Palmer Needham. Little broke through to the left in the 38:th minute, Nang-Klao Tha kai bok firing at an acute angle giving the home side a 2 - 1 lead. 2 - 1 was the half-time score. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.

Sidekicks got a chance to level the score as Ned Connor suddenly found himself free with the goaltender but the finishing shot hit the bar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Little´s Malte Börjesson got himself booked. Patrik Tuvin came close to levelling the score in the 65:th minute, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. Sidekicks could level the score in the 70:th minute at 2 - 2, as Ned Connor struck home after a fine midfield combination, leaving him completely unmarked. Irfan Serin behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 79:th minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 80:th minute allowed Patrik Tuvin to score 2 - 3 for Sidekicks. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 83rd minute Sidekicks goal, making it 2 - 4. Patrik Tuvin was noted down as the scorer. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 54 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Little player was without a doubt Chompoo Sumalee. Samarn Sinn was a disappointment, however. Sidekicks´s best player was Keith Perez. Julius Stclair on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 4.

Team News

-We had to sale forward Robert Rossi to help us get out of debt. Patrik Tuvin is more productive anyways.
-We are going to start looking for some derbies.
-We have a new team in V.111, the Soccerteamplayers. They replace Tetsaiga, who we are scheduled to play this week. They start out with a decent team and in 5th place in V.111.
-We have put our backup Keeper, Tors Larsson, on the transfer market for $180,000. I figure that if I'm going to lose him, I want to at least come close to getting out of debt.

Training Results

Well, for the first time in 3 weeks, I am happy with our training results. This week we trained "General" so that we could maybe get out of our team wide form slump.

We still need some help, but at least SOMEONE improved this week.

7 form increases (5 starters)
5 form decreases (4 starters)

Keeper Admir Podboj's form rose to excellent! Because of this, he is now valued at $418,000, an increase of $33,000. This was the largest increase on the team and he is now our only player in excellent form.

We also had 4 players rise to solid form including backup Keeper Tor Larsson whos value rose $20,000 to currently stand at $207,000.

11 value increases (7 starters)
4 value decreases (4 starters)

Next week we will be training passing, I believe. I will have to see I guess.

#4 NE Oklahoma Sidekicks - #5 Soccerteamplayers

Date: 2/24/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594052
Arena: The Slaughter House (Our new arena name)
Crowd: 9550 (9550)

This was our last league match. We fully expected to win this with ease. I don't remember exactly who it was, but they said that someone in their league got money from spectators in an arena that wasn't completed yet. I was hoping that maybe that would happen to me, but it didn't, of course.

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 9550 to The Slaughter House. Sidekicks tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Podboj - Johnson, Thomasson, Thompson - Needham, Connor, Andersson, Stensson, Winters - Tuvin, Perez.

Soccerteamplayers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Kraft - Meyers, Feijoo, Koenig, Vien-Van - Mcpherson, Mcclelland, Anders, Ely - Culver, Kuykendall.

Sidekickss Keith Perez gave, after 21 minutes, the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 23 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Sidekicks. However, Ed Kraft made a spectacular save. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Patrik Tuvin squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 31st minute, asserting the lead to 2 - 0. In the 32nd minute Sidekicks put themselves up 3 - 0. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Donny Winters coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home. By now Sidekicks were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. The referee showed Sidekickss Jan Thomasson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Keith Perez of Sidekicks received a yellow card in the 37:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 3 - 0 was the half-time score. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Sidekicks, with an impressive 73 percent possession of the ball.

In the 54:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Ned Connor dashed through, knocking home 4 - 0 for Sidekicks. In the 62nd minute Sidekicks´s Keith Perez tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot rebounded off the bar to fall behind the net. Sidekicks put their lead ahead another goal as Patrik Tuvin struck home the 5 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 68 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Sidekicks. However, Ed Kraft made a spectacular save. Sidekicks held the ball, with a clear 81 percent possession rate.

Sidekicks´s best player was Admir Podboj. Donny Winters on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Soccerteamplayers player was José Feijoo. Johnny Meyers on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 0.

This was our "friendly" match against FOFCs MoKan Mighty Bastards, yesterday.

Date: 2/27/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 5044419
Arena: MoKan Mighty Bastards Arena
Crowd: 589 (I hate rain!!!!!!!!!!)

589 spectators had found their way to MoKan Mighty Bastards Arena, despite the heavy rain. Bastards tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Macon - Frank, Fernández Le Gal, Tobias, Currier - Looney, Chastain, Singh, Keyesj, Rains - Simpson.

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Larsson - Andersen, Stclair, Bodnar - Winters, Connor, Anduaga, Serin, Wilson - Garrison, Kirkpatrick.

Bastards tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but kept getting stuck on the visitors defenders. A header from Dustin Chastain connected with a corner kick after 11 minutes, and the ball ended up with Roland Rains of Bastards who shot the 1-0 goal. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 12 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Bastards. However, Tor Larsson made a spectacular save. The home side´s Hubert Keyesj came close to extending the lead in the 15:th minute. His shot came in off the right hand side but Tor Larsson managed saving with a fingernail. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 27 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Bastards. However, Tor Larsson made a spectacular save. In the 28:th minute Sidekickss Ned Connor received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 30 minutes Sidekickss Donny Winters had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. Palmer Needham came in instead of him. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 0. Bastards, bringing the final ball possession rate to 69 percent, dominated the battle.

What was Irfan Serin thinking? That's what everyone wondered when he for no apparent reason shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving Roland Rains an extra chance, but he didn't get the shot right.. In the 75:th minute Bastards´s Dustin Chastain tried to nail the coffin shut, but the shot rebounded off the bar to fall behind the net. Bastards will have to do without Hubert Keyesj for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Neal Rice. Bastardss Dustin Chastain got himself booked after a foul. Sidekicks were forced to a substitution as Tor Larsson couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment. The referee showed Bastardss Cleveland Looney the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Bastards held the ball, with a clear 84 percent possession rate.

Most important Bastards player was Neal Rice. Roland Rains on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Sidekicks player was Admir Podboj. Julius Stclair was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 0.

Stupid stupid rain! Sadly, some of my younger trainees were injured in that game, so I'll be losing out on essential training. I'm buying a dome!

Which player should I put on the transfer list? Larsson is injured, if you didn't see.

I would suggest keeping Gill as a backup until Larsson gets healthy. Once Larsson returns, consider selling him to help reduce your debt. If you don't mind the reduction in skill at your backup keeper spot, that is.

#2 RN United - #4 NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

This was a match that we knew we could win after inserting the stats into the Match Calculator. We needed to at least come out with a tie, although a win would be very nice. Coming into the game, United has only allowed 7 goals, so we need to get some points on the board.

Date: 3/3/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594059
Arena: RN United Arena
Crowd: 9000

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 9000 to RN United Arena. United had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Valenzuela - Doménech, Macdonald, Yuste - Trincado, Guinn, Granger, Vinterland, Hearn - Mcpherson, Bailly.

Sidekicks started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Podboj - Thompson, Johnson, Thomasson - Wilson, Connor, Andersson, Stensson, Needham - Tuvin, Perez.

Sidekicks took the lead in the games 13th minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Göran Andersson was the scorer. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Göran Andersson needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The referee showed Uniteds Darrell Guinn the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 32 minutes of play Darrell Guinn equalised for United after an elegant attack from the right. A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 33rd minute allowed Patrik Tuvin to score 1 - 2 for Sidekicks. In the games 37:th minute Sidekicks´s Patrik Tuvin fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Patrik Tuvin for taking a dive. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 2. United held the ball, with a clear 52 percent possession rate.

Sidekicks came close to extending their lead as Keith Perez delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was to sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. Sidekickss Jan Thomasson got himself booked after a foul. The United player was Stephen Mcpherson who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game. In the 73rd minute United was able to score the equalising 2 - 2 goal. Darrell Guinn picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away teams goalie. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by United, with an impressive 67 percent possession of the ball.

Most important United player was Juan Antonio Doménech. Darrell Guinn on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sidekicks player was without a doubt Admir Podboj. Ben Wilson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.

We had 2 excellents and a solid in defense last week, but...

We didn't get the excellents that we did last week because we went for a more offensive approach, knowing that we would struggle to get goals.

We are a very well-rounded team. As soon as we can get the midfield up to inadequate at the lowest, I feel that we can not only win V.111 next season, but compete in IV the season after that.

Ok, I have decided to do an abbreviated version of my dynasty until the season ends.

As many of you already know, the Sidekicks were kicked;) out of the FOFC Cup by the MoKan Mighty Bastards. We weren't able to put up much of a fight as his starters played my 2 star trainees. We were defeated 6-0. We will now be cheering for the Bastards to win the Cup so that our loss can be looked at in a different light. Go Bastards!

Second item on the agenda is to thank our supporters for, well, supporting us. Thanks a lot. FYI, we also support all five of these great teams:)

The last thing was our training updates tonight. I'm not really sure how our form was affected because I don't have HAM and I'm not writing everything down this late in the season. But we got our best news of the season regarding training this season as midfielder Goran Andersson's playmaking has bumped up to excellent! He will be the first "excellent" player to don a Sidekicks jersey.

For our friendly this week we will be heading to Seattle to play Bolivar F.C. If you follow the USA conference board, I'm sure you know who the owner is. It is none other than "OneAmaru" who has been lobbying in vain to be able to speak Spanish on the USA board. Had we saw this, we would have told him no. But he won V.111 last year, and it's my home now, so I accepted.

That's all for this report, and if you haven't signed our guestbook, please stop by!

Raging Chimbelinas - NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

This match decides 3rd place in V.111, so it's very important to us.

Date: 3/17/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 4594066
Arena: Raging Chimbelinas Arena
Crowd: 7000

At Raging Chimbelinas Arena, 7000 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Chimbelinas had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Laneve - Montgomery, Shafer, Rees - Sorensen, Lawrance, Dunham, Ĺhsjö, Wills - Gallegos, Schreiber.

Sidekicks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Podboj - Thompson, Thomasson, Johnson - Needham, Connor, Andersson, Stensson, Winters - Perez, Kirkpatrick.

First Half

Jason Gallegos gave his Chimbelinas the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post.

Halftime

Halftime score was 1 - 0 Chimbelinas.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Chimbelinas, with an impressive 54 percent possession of the ball.

Second Half

The crowd was silenced in the 65:th minute as the visiting teams Keith Perez came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1.

A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 77:th minute allowed Conny Stensson to score 1 - 2 for Sidekicks.

Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 81st minute Sidekicks goal, making it 1 - 3 Sidekicks. Keith Perez was noted down as the scorer.

End of Game Stats

Sidekicks, bringing the final ball possession rate to 52 percent, dominated the battle.

Most important Chimbelinas player was Teddy Rees. Ken Dunham on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Sidekicks player was without a doubt Admir Podboj. Donny Winters on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.

Match Analysis

Other than a little better midfield, I couldn't have asked for a better played game from my guys, so this is a nice way to end the season. Forward Patrik Tuvin was out due to suspension, so our attack would have been a little better had he been in the game.

I was just looking at the series standings a couple of hours ago, and everything was normal. I go to post the final standings and we have another new team, the Virginia Vipers.

Anyways, let me recap you on the past few days:

Friendly

F.C. Bolivar vs. NE Oklahoma Sidekicks

Well, we lost 3-1 to the team that promoted out of my series last year. I'm not too diappointed as he is in 3rd place in Div. IV. Nothing noteworthy occured during the match.

Training

We didn't have anyone bump up in playmaking this week.
Many players lost a level of form, so I'm worried what these 2 weeks of stamina is going to do to them.

It would be nice if we could sell him, but the weakest link on the team has been our 2nd Winger, so Krebs will stay and immediately be inserted into the starting lineup.

Ooh! Unpredictable winger. Sounds like fun. Too bad his other skills are all downright awful (unless you were training defense in which he would be a pretty good wingback)- he can't play winger that well (playmaking) or offensive winger (scoring/passing) but you could put him at defensive winger.

SI

NevStar
03-23-2003, 08:23 AM
I disagree. Scoring has little to no effect on an offensive winger. Play him offensively to maximize his winger skill. His playmaking is horrendous for a midfielder, though.

vex
03-23-2003, 08:40 AM
So should I sell or keep?

Yeah, I read on the ABC tactics oncee that playing a winger offensively has no disadvatages.

NevStar
03-23-2003, 08:47 AM
That depends. How badly do you want an attack on his side of the field; are you willing to give up midfield rating for it?

You could always sell him & find an older replacement.

vex
03-23-2003, 08:57 AM
Well, with my midfield rating being at poor already, I'm not sure I can afford it. How much would he go for? 70-100?

NevStar
03-23-2003, 09:02 AM
That sounds about right. HT is down right now, so I couldn't check similar players.

daedalus
03-23-2003, 12:45 PM
Well, like ice said, you could play him defensively and shore up defense on that side. At least until you can find a replacement. That kid would make a darn decent wing back, though.

I agree with Nev, though, scoring won't add to your offensive winger. I would think you would be able to find an inexpensive older player as a stopgap until you can develop one.

As an aside, Nev's post looks weird with such a short signature. :)
