For those of us who managed to get a 360, what are your feelings on it a few months in. Love it? Disappointed? Not enough good games? What are the best games so far?
Me, I'm kinda holding out for PS3. Hoping I'll only need 1 system in the next generation, and I prefer PS exclusive franchises like Ratchet & Clank, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, etc., over Halo, etc. Hoping we'll know just when it'll come out soon, and how much it will cost.

So Far, not enough good games. I'm really dissapointed that NCAA 06 doesn't work on it. Madden 06 looks great, and plays pretty much the same..but i'm sick of the same cutscene after every play. Perfect Dark Zero and Geometry Wars I'm having a lot of fun playing. Xbox Live is great, and I see a strong future for the system. All it needs is more games.

Not enough games that can hold my interest. While a few of the games are okay they lack any real kind of depth in my opinion. Then again I haven't played all the games but the ones I have lack it.

Playing a lot of PGR3, and I just LOVE the ability to turn off all the stupid hip-hop soundtracks that get put into the games and stream my own playlist off my home PC (where I've ripped my entire CD collection).
Note: I'm slightly biased as I'm working on a 360 game, so feel free to add a grain of salt. But the machine is a JOY to program for.

I've finished Call Of Duty 2, almost done with Kameo, and still play Madden, and those were the games I got at launch. Fight Night Round 3 is out in around 2 weeks, and not far off are Saint's Row, Elder Scrolls IV, College Hoops 2K6, MLB 2K6 and those will be my next games.
I haven't gotten into many of the XBL Arcade games, Gauntlet is the only one I bought. The Marketplace is a great thing though, you can get demos and trailers of pretty much every game, as well as upcoming releases.
With a system launch there really isn't going to be many good games available anyway, the same thing will happen months after the PS3 launches. I may get the PS3 also, but not with the rumored prices at the moment, and with no hard drive built in.

Well that bodes well for future games!

I really like it. Love is a bit strong ;) Yet, I am disappointed with the lack of a large number of great games. NBA2k6 is the only must own that I've played so far. DOA4 is a beautiful game, but I'm not enough of a fighter game fan to buy that. I think Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is going to be a great game, but I'm just going to get that for my PC. I'm really excited to see how the College Hoops turns out in a few weeks. I'm also looking forward to Fight Night 3 for the Xbox 360 which looks great. I think before the PS3 comes out, there will be a nice number of very good games for the system and I'll be playing my Xbox 360 more frequently.

I love my 360. NBA 2k6 is a great game. The graphics are sweet. Call of Duty 2 is the best shooter I've played on a console. BUT CONSOLES Suck for shooters. I need a mouse and keyboard. But it is still a great game.

Really like it with high potential for much box love in the future. Have to see what the new releases are like because the initial launch of games is just a little bland. Love Call of Duty.. Gun was a little bland.. DOA4 was great graphically but, I'm not much of a button masher kinda player so...

Diggin' it.
Be careful with your list of exclusive franchises. The Ratchet & Clank series is done. What you'll be able to expect from it moving forward will be either one-off tales like Deadlocked, or "Let's do some funky things with the franchise" such as Jak X: Combat Racing.
Also, re: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus...I don't think it counts as a "franchise" until there are at least two games in the series. ;)
That said, I'll also pick up a PS3 at some point assuming the price is right. If it isn't, I'll likely accumulate games in anticipation, and wait 'til I can afford the box itself.

I love the system. I had been playing the heck out of Madden and Need for Speed, and then I played a game of NBA 2K6 last night, and now I'm going to try and play more games of it. That and when NCAA 2K6 comes out, I'll be happier. Top Spin is going to be the first game that I buy that someone else I know will purchase, so I know that we will have a lot of fun playing that. And Microsoft is releasin a Texas Hold 'Em game for people to play over Xbox live.

Yep. I somewhat consider ICO and Shadow to be part of the "Ueda" series, and there's supposed to be another one in development for PS3. As for Ratchet, I meant that the developer will continue on with the PS3. Basically, when it comes to exclusives, PS2 has done better with me, so if I plan to only get one console, PS3 is the logical choice. Of course, if it comes out and is uber expensive, I will then reconsider the 360. However, I'm expecting it to be $400 to $500, in which case, I will definitely be getting it.

I like it. If the backwards compatibility entailed a few more mainstream games, it would be great. The fact that Madden 2006 was the Xbox's best selling game in 2006 and it doesn't play on the Xbox 360 is pretty crappy. I believe NCAA 2006 was up there as well as one of the best selling games for 2006.
I only have three games, so it's hard to judge yet. I really wanted Dead Rising to come out since I'm a zombie genre fan. I think the ultimate health of the console will be the games that support it. So far, there is no "must have" game. Then again, I don't see the PS3 costing less than $500...

The crazy thing is, Kodos, I remember a day when $400 to $500 was the kiss of death for gaming hardware. Now it's "But that's not so bad, it's PlayStation!"
And you know the creators of 3DO are going "Man, a decade too early..."

I really do like the BC. Because of it (and the scarcity of great Xbox360 games), I bought Ninja Gaiden: Black which is one of the best games ever made for the Xbox in my opinion.

I am enjoying the 360...however, the online issues with COD2 are BRUTAL, and Infinity Ward really dropped the ball with that.

They just released an update for COD 2, did it not help?

I believe it was only for a single player glitch...though my connection was marginally better tonight, I still think they haven't released the MP patch.

Hmm, I thought it was for the MP part. My bad.

I honestly feel ps3 is gonna be a HUGE bust.. nintendo revolution looks fantastic for the 25+ gamer crowd who remembers all the old nes games (its gonna come preloaded with tons of old nes games)

It sure does seem like Sony is banking heavily on their clout and their huge lead in the current gen and are going to push the limits of consumer goodwill based off the early cost projections I'm hearing.
If the PS3 really is $500+ piece of hardware with non-gaming hardware built-in, I can't help but think that will boost the prospects of both the 360 and the Revolution. You know that MS will institute a price drop around the time the PS3 is launched (my guess would be $50). If the PS3 launches at $500 and the fully loaded 360 is dropped to $350, how many people are still going to lean in the direction of the PS3? While the launch lineup for the 360 has been lukewarm at best, by that point you should start seeing some good titles coming out.
On the plus side for the PS3, I think a lot of game publishers have timed their production schedules for their next-gen games to line up pretty closely with the PS3 launch or soon after - that way they spread out their development costs across both the 360 and PS3 SKU's to maximize revenue. That should mean the PS3 has a better launch lineup than the 360 did. On the other hand, most of the good titles that will launch with the PS3 or shortly thereafter will also have 360 versions (and there may be a few titles that launch early on the 360).
It will be very interesting to see how this all shakes out. I would agree that the Revolution is a big darkhorse that isn't getting enough attention - the whole back library of Nintendo games available online is going to have a huge nostalgic appeal to Gen X crowd that grew up with NES games and now has the disposable income and inclination to buy gaming consoles.

That's actually not true. The Revolution will have a "Virtual Console" which allows you to download old NES, SNES, and N64 games (Gamecube games can be played from the console). There will be a charge for it, however. Though Nintendo has said there may be free game offers and whatnot.
