Here are some good RSS readers from my freeware page:
FeedReader (http://www.feedreader.com/)
GreatNews (http://curiostudio.com/index.html)
klipfolio (http://www.serence.com/site.php) - this one is configurable if you want a fancy way to display your feeds.
Now as far as where to look for feeds, the top two are for finding podcast feeds, the other two can be used to find any feed (news, podcasts, blogs):
Podcast.net (http://www.podcast.net/)
Yahoo Podcasts (http://podcasts.yahoo.com/)
Feedster (http://www.feedster.com/)
Technorati (http://www.technorati.com/)

By the way, if you have the latest version of Thunderbird, it already has a built in RSS reader. If you don't have it or don't want it, ignore this.
