iTunes (Burning purchased shows to DVD)?

I've never used iTunes before, but yesterday I purchased and downloaded some episodes of Lost that I missed earlier this year. I was hoping that I could burn them to dvd and watch them on my television (watching it on the computer is fine but a little awkward since my wife and another couple plans to watch them).

I tried to use their burn to disc option, but when I put the disc in the DVD player it said it was incompatable. Anyone have any ideas? (I'd prefer helpful ideas, but smartass ones are your right and will be appreciated as well).

I was wondering if this is possible as well. It would be interesting to see if there is any way to do this.
