I have a weird headache that I can't get rid of...I developed a rash on my right eyelid earlier in the week as the result of changing face creams (I've stopped using the new cream), and b/c of the rash I was rubbing my eye alot to make the rash stop burning and itching. I noticed yesterday that when I rubbed my eye it hurt on the right hand side of the eye socket, if felt like it was bruised. Now I have a weird headache only on the right side of my head and it hurts mainly when I turn my head to the right, to where my chin would just about meet my shoulder, and it also hurts when I rub my eye in that spot that feels bruised. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I've never had a headache like this and it's kind of freaking me out...

(there's joke at Radii's expense in here somewhere- sorry, that's all I got; I don't know much about headaches, it's one of the few maladys I don't suffer from)

Sorry, Oliegirl, I'm not sure about this one. It sounds like it could be an atypical tension headache but it's not classical. It could also be an atypical migraine. Much less likely, it could be something bizarre. How long have you had the headache for? Have you had any nausea or vomiting? Is light hurting your eyes? Any vertigo?

The headache started this morning - I had it when I got up, and it's gotten worse throughout the day. It also hurts when I bend over and then stand back up, but it's not a constant pain...if that makes sense. No other symptoms, other than this I feel fine. I am stressing pretty bad, but over something I found out about late this afternoon after I'd already had the headache all day. If it's still hurting on Monday I am planning to go to the dr, but I guess I'm trying to figure out if I need to go before then.

You can probably safely wait until Monday unless it gets worse, you become nauseous, you start vomiting, you become dizzy, or you start having weakness or tingling in your extremities. Of course, if the headache is stressing you out too much, then go sooner for your own peace of mind.

Thanks - I'll probably wait and see how it is tomorrow and decide then if I can wait til Monday or not.

Bump and update:

Ended up going to a dr. yesterday morning, it was hurting more then than it was on Friday - he said that I had wrenched my neck and also hurt a nerve in my eye area with all the rubbing, and those 2 things together were causing all my pain. He gave me sample of Dolgic Plus and said to take 1 pill 2 or 3 times a day for the pain.

The thing is, it hurts more today that it did yesterday and now instead of just hurting when I am moving my head, it hurts when I move my eyes from side to side, so I am going back to my dr. tomorrow. I'm kind of freaking out about it though - imagining that I have some kind of weird brain disease or I am going to end up blind in my right eye...

You may need to get on the list for a new head.

Can I request a new body at the same time? I'm not picky...Stacy Kiebler would be my first choice, but I'd settle for Elle MacPherson or any other woman at least 5'8" in height and naturally lean...that isn't too much to ask is it?

On a serious note, I feel like my eye isn't focusing right away with the other one, if that makes sense. I am not going to go to the hospital or anything tonight, but will definitely be calling the dr. first thing in the morning.

Sounds kind of like a pinched nerve.....not much to be done but rest and painkillers if that's the case, at least in my experience.

Update:

Went to my regular doctor yesterday, the pain was a little worse and moving more to the back of my eye. She said it MIGHT be a migraine, and put me on prednisone for 4 days, said at the end of the 4 days if it still hurt to go to an Opthamologist. I decided since this is my vision I'd rather be safe than sorry and schedule an appt with the Opthamologist for this morning. He said my optical muscles are "abnormal" and I have a lot of pressure around my eye, which could be from sinus pressure so he put me on a decongestant and antihistimine, but feels it might be something else so I have a brain and orbital CT scheuduled for Thursday afternoon. Kind of freaking out about this, but am trying to not overreact too badly...keep your fingers crossed please :(
