Seriously, I have NO idea what it means. I've been looking around and can't find any reference to it either.

I bet it's something an administrator sees if someone checks the "Don't show member name in Who's Online" in their preferences. I was playing with stuff the other day and left that button on. I'll go back and turn it off and see if that takes the *away.

It means that they have chosen to browse the board in "invisible mode", which means they do not appear on the "Who's Online" bar.

We can see them because we are moderators.
