I didn't see any of the first half, but I heard the announcers say UNC trailed by 20 at one point?
Hansbrough is one of the best freshman I've seen in the ACC ever. Carmelo Anthony was so good as a freshman and is the only reason I'm not having to rack my brain to wonder about best freshman I've ever seen.
He has 38 points right now(UNC's freshman record, I believe he broke a mark set by JR Reid) as UNC has come back big time to lead by 4 with 4:55 left.

Didn't Forte get 40 in a preseason tourney?
Haven't been able to watch the game, but I've been staring at the scoreboard online.

Forte may have had 31 as a freshman, I thought it was Reid but I didn't hear them say who had the old record. Hansbrough's 40 was both a Smith Center record and a UNC Freshman record, the old freshman record they said many times in the TV broadcast was 31.

I watched some great basketball games at Alexander when I was a student, but when UNC came to town, there was no question who I was rooting for :)

I must be insane, I could have swore that happened. But after I posted, I went a searched for it and couldn't find a mention.
But yeh, Hansbrough has been awesome. I certainly didn't expect such an immediate impact from a white guy. :)

I think most people have attempted to forget Joe Forte ever existed. His high as a freshman was 29, which is solid. But boy did he go downhill after that first year.

It's pretty easy to get back in the game when it's 8 on 5.
Typical ACC home job in the state of North Carolina.

Yeah if it weren't for Quin him and Rush would be tearing it up in the Black & Gold. (I guess technically Quin's hands were tied on Rush, but he definitely scared Hansbrough away)

I'm ever-so-eagerly looking forward to watching the untouchable Tyler the Traveler go to the line about 20 times next week against State while Ced Simmons, Andrew Brackman, and every other interior player for State sits on the bench with foul trouble.
Looks like Carolina's found their new golden boy. He's still KLang 2.0 to me, but that's my jaundiced dislike of UNC coming through.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has that view.

I thought Duke was the team that the rest of the ACC irrationally hated right now? ah well, i'm used to it.
If all Hansbrough is after 4 years is Kris Lang, he'll be a massive, massive bust. I don't see how anyone can possibly feel that way right now though.

I was just thinking this the other day. Unreal.

I'm an NC State fan. I have an irrational hatred of both of you. :)
Besides, all the Dook fans go back to New Jersey and New York after school. UNC fans remain festering in the South after they finish school (whether that be from UNC, ECU, or just plain dropped out of high school). Therefore, we have to put up with you a lot longer than four years. ;)
And, yes, I do recognize that the Traveling Man is a bit better than KLang was at the same age. Still doesn't make me like him.

Typical ACC home job in the state of North Carolina.Having watched many ACC games over the years, I think the refs have favored the home team everywhere this season; much more so than in the past. In previous seasons, there were refs who favored the 'better' team (Duke, UNC, even Maryland when they won it all) No matter where the game was played. I don't think those guys are around any more.
Coaches work the refs more than in the past, and the refs take more from home coaches, too.

The University of Southern New Jersey State at Durham
