So I'll be in Vegas for the first time from this Sunday through Wednesday. :)

I'd like to make a couple of sports bets just for fun, but the only sport that I follow well enough to make any sort of an educated bet on myself is the NFL. So I'm coming on here looking for a little advice from those of you who follow sports betting closely.

What games, if any, that are being played this Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, might be attractive wagers? I know that asking for advice from guys on FOFC is no substitute for actually researching the games myself, but I certainly won't be betting large sums, and it really is just for the sake of doing as many Vegas type things as I can while I am there.

So, any and all advice is appreciated.

Mizzou over Kansas. I line is always way off for this one and Mizzou is perceived by the betting community as being really down. I wouldn't be suprised if it was 10-15 points and I think it will be a 5-point game. (Don't put the house on it, but this should be a fun one)

Daytona 500 is Sunday. Pick a couple of Drivers, Dale Jr., Stewart, Biffle, Gordon, Johnson.

I was going to suggest Daytona as well. Most casinos will let you bet on the winner or on prop bets between individual drivers.

Just wander into a sportsbook and gamble away.

Then take your earnings to the tables and triple it.

Then go to the strip clubs and do as you please.

You really don't need a specific game to bet on. I think I was betting on D3 basketball while I was out there and winning because the bookies have no clue about Montpelier St ability to post up versus Northern Colorado A&M.

I hear Mainz is a lock this Sunday.

These are all(?) great ideas, but a lot of them are going to happen before I land on Sunday and get to the hotel.

Still, thanks for the ideas, and keep 'em coming.

I don't sports bet but I find it pretty interesting so here goes. Penn is 7-0 in the ivy and 7-0 ATS in those games. They are @columbia then @cornell friday/saturday. Sagrain loves penn and they are one of those teams that have a much higher predictor score than their ELO_CHESS score. In general, I've read that there is value betting on teams like this and fading teams that are visa versa. I don't have any idea what the lines are for those two games but maybe something for friday if you get down their early enough.
