Almost Famous(Untitled Bootleg Cut)-Great movie, the added scenes are great
American Pie-funny the first couple of times
Annie Hall-One of my favorite movies-no extras
Apollo 13-great movie
Cast Away-Great movie, commentary is very interesting
Christmas Vacation-Ok movie, no extras
Citizen Kane-Awesome movie, good commentary, interesting documentary on the battle between Orsen Welles and William Randolph Hearst on Disc 2
Clerks-good movie, good commentary
Clerks: Cartoon-hillarious, commentary is also inciteful
Dogma-Pretty good movie, haven't gone through all the extras yet
Ferris Bueller-Classic
Fight Club-One of the best DVDs
Forrest Gump-Probably my favorite movie, along with some good extras
Ghostbusters-Good movie, funny commentary with MST3K foreground, along with an interesting sort of pop of video subtitle option
Gladiator-Good movie, extras are great
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back-Good Movie but the deleted scenes on the disc make this DVD awesome
JFK-Cool Movie, some very interesting features
Mallrats-Good movie, lots o' extras especially for one disc
Meet the Parents-Again one of my favorites, but I hav enot watched the extras and if you have digital cable it is on almost all the time
Royal Tenenbaums-Cool DVD
Office Space-Again awesome movie, but no extras
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest(Special Edition)-Great movie, Great DVD
Shrek-Fun movie, DVD is pretty cool
Wall Street-Again one of my favorite movies, commentary is great on it and describes some of the turmoil on the set
Sports Night-Great Show, lots of epsiodes but no extras.

A surprise DVD for me was From Dusk til Dawn. The movie is corny and it's really only for people that like old school make-up fest slasher flicks but it's a great DVD set. It's almost like a bunch of movie fans designed the DVD set. One CD is a documentary on the making of the movie and it's one of the best docs I've ever seen on filmmaking. Director Robert Rodriguez even has a few clips on one of the CDs he specifically targets to show people common filmmaking practices. The directors commentary by Rodriguez and Tarantino is hilarious. I want to to check out Tarantino's new directors cut DVDs for Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs because of this one but haven't had a chance.

For a DVD that takes advantage of your new home theater sound system, you HAVE to buy The Matrix. You'll never experience your home theater system until you watch that movie. :D

My wife has been buying the Robotech Macross box sets. She remembers them from her childhood. I never saw them. Now, she's scouring the internet for the original Japanese Macross series movies, the Macross Plus, and the Macross 7. Help!!!

Of course, my guilty pleasures are the Director's editions of the Star Trek movies. Does that make me a geek?

9. Return of the Living Dead--glad this finally came out on DVD
8. Shrek--great extras
7. Office Space--did you get the new coversheets for the TPS reports (what the hell are TPS reports????)
6. Super Troopers--best comedy I've seen in a while
5. Terminator 2--great sound, special effects
4. Aliens (Special Ed)--game over man!
3. Glory--better war movie than Saving Private Ryan
2. Star Wars II: AotC--great extras
1. Fellowship of the Ring (extended)--c'mon you knew it was #1!

RA - definitely agree about Glory. Dunno if you're familiar with Jeff and Michael Shaara, but they're a father-son duo (the father is deceased) who've written an excellent Civil War trilogy.

"Gettysburg" is based on "The Killer Angels," which was written by, I believe, Jeff, and his son Michael wrote "Gods and Generals" and "The Last Full Measure" sandwiched around TKA. The film version of "Gods and Generals" should be released sometime in mid-spring this year, and I really see no reason why "The Last Full Measure" won't follow suit.

Definitely a few to watch if you haven't already.

They're coming out with yet another edition of this classic (I don't own it, but I might finally buy it). This will be a 2-disc set called the "Boomstick Edition". I saw a promotion on dvdpricesearch for Best Buy that if you preorder it online (it costs $20) by March 1, you'll get a $10 digital coupon to use in the two weeks after the DVD is released.
