That is terrible, but do not think this is "new." My wife's grandfather was a jurist in a trail in the 1930's where a 17-year-old butchered his mom and dad. He never would say what he did, only that it was horrific. This happened long before television and media could have "told him what to do."

The sad part of this story is that he and the rest of the jury could not bring themselves to sentence him to death. He was too young, and they just couldn't do it. 21 years later he was released from prison. Within 2 weeks he slaughter a family of three that lived next door. To the day he died, he thought their blood was on his hands.
