There was a feature in the print edition of today's AJC entitled, "FALLEN MIGHTY." The explanation at the top...
Georgetown, it appears, has finally made it back. Michigan, too. But some of college basketball's most successful programs have yet to snap out of a multi-year or even multi-decade funk. We're not talking about flash-in-the-pan stories like Loyola Marymount or one-year downturns like Oklahoma State's. We're talking prolonged success and at least three consecutive years of failure. WE're talking a big fall, from elite to defeat. Staff writer Mike Knobler takes a look at the top 10 tumblers:It then goes on to make a list, with an explanation of each...
1. UNLV
2. Arkansas
3. Houston
4. DePaul
5. UMass
6. St. John's
7. Temple
8. San Fran
9. UVA
10. Missouri
What made me LOL at brunch this morning was this line from the Missouri explanation:
"Few programs have cheated more to accomplish less than the Tigers..."
:D
