A Racing Dynasty.
Not auto racing. Horse racing. I'll be starting a new account at: http://simulatedsports.net/hr/
This is a large multiplayer horse racing simulation. I was very active on there about 5-6 years ago, but haven't played much since, and haven't logged in at all in over two years. I'm sure there have been big changes since the last time I was there, so most of my prior experience will be of little use.
Additionally, I will impose a few key restrictions on my play:
I will operate only one "stable." Many players in this game register several different accounts, because each account (or "stable") can only keep 10 horses, and that's just not enough for some players (in fact, I had around 5 stables at one time). I don't have time to manage that many, and I don't need this to become a major distraction. So, one stable only.
I will not buy credits. I am not 100% certain this system is still in place, but you used to be able to buy credits in the game. The base game is free - but you can purchase credits to sponsor your own races or use towards "breeding points." This gives you a competitive advantage, as it is often hard to find room in races for your horses (and you automatically get entry into races you sponsor), and it can take a very long time to accumulate enough breeding points to breed a decent horse. But I don't wish to spend any money on this, so, no credits.
The last time I played, the game was exceptionally crowded, and it was really tough just to get your horses in a race ever two to four weeks, to say nothing of actually winning races on a regular basis. With the restrictions I have, it will be really challenging to produce a stable of winners, as the horses you get when you start out are generally garbage, and usually suitable only for claims races.
I am going to register a new account now. Once that is done, I will have a chance to select which horses I prefer from an available pool. I may not get any of them. It is my expectation that most or all of the horses I end up with will be entirely random. Horses generally take a few days to be assigned, so don't expect anything exciting to happen too soon.
