As I channel surfed the other night, ran across a Twilight Zone I had not seen before. Shatner with his new bride were traveling thru Ohio (never a good idea!) when the come to light upon a small town. Eating in the local diner Shatner discovers that the napkin holder tells fortunes and soon he is captured under its evil spell. This got me reflecting, I had seen his other Twilight Zone multiple times before but he was pretty good in this one too!
So which role should Shatner go down in history for as his best? Captain Kirk? TJ Hooker? Denny Crane? Or maybe one of his guest spots on Columbo? Some other work now forgotten? (He was the father on the TV classic Go Ask Alice). Feel free to post pictures.

Shatner's role in the classic Twilight Zone episode, when he is on a plane and sees a gremlin on the wing of the plane is a great one too.

Yes, I had forgotten about him also being a pure, musical genius.

There is only one Shatner role that brought a tear to my eye. Oh the emotion.

"Oh, cut the bleeding heart crap, will ya? We've all got our switches, lights, and knobs to deal with, Striker. I mean, down here there are literally hundreds and thousands of blinking, beeping, and flashing lights, blinking and beeping and flashing - they're *flashing* and they're *beeping*. I can't stand it anymore! They're *blinking* and *beeping* and *flashing*! Why doesn't somebody pull the plug!"

My God, I had no idea, and that's one of my top 5 movies.

Wasn't he a spokesman for Maximum Football? I thought I saw the cover art for that.

I'll say "Boston Legal", even though its his most recent role. It's a great role for him.

I liked his work on 3rd Rock From the Sun, especially when they gave homage to the Twighlight Zone classic. "It was out there, on the wing...."

I liked the episode what the new wife was telling him they should move and Crane/Shatner said "What, am I supposed to beam up to Boston every day".
Nice.

Two Words:
Denny Crane.
Considering the man is 75 years old, he aint doing bad as Denny Crane, but Captain Kirk is, well Captain Kirk.

Captain Kirk was fun. Seeing him on old episodes of Star Trek was my favorite when I was a kid. However, Denny Crane appeals to me now. He is funny, he is much more human behind the bravado. It really is a great role for him. He and Spader have great chemisty as well.

Spader kicks ass. Crane and Spader are the best duo on TV today. Two guys that just don't give a fuck and can articulate it well.

Buck Murdock: We'd better get to the tower, Lieutenant.
Lt. Pervis: We have no tower, sir.
Buck Murdock: No tower?
Lt. Pervis: Just a bridge, sir.
Buck Murdock: Why the *hell* aren't I notified about these things?
