I hate Derek Grimm almost as much as I hate Tyus Edney. He just stands there like a freakin' statue. Grimm was like 6-6+, and Edney was 5-foot nothing. Block the damn ball!

The Kansas City Star ran a "what if" feature a few months about what would have happened in local sports if a single event had gone the other way. They Photoshopped that picture to show Grimm jumping the inch it would have required to block the freakin' ball. Made me cry.

I still remember that moment vividly. I was just getting back from spring break and was driving from Springfield back to Columbia. I was driving through the Lake of the Ozarks when we hit the basket to take the lead. I started waving my arms out the window and honking my horn, and so were other people along the highway. It was great.

The Edney hit that stupid shot. A couple of cars pulled off to the side of the road. I stopped for gas and everybody was just numb.
