Do the CPU teams ever change their team focus? Or am I just doing something wrong? It seems like a good feature to add, but not if I have to go through and change every team by hand.

Umm..I don't think so. I know I always went and changed them from time to time, because they never seemed to do it.

On second look it appears that it does change, but not nearly as much as I'd like. During the pennant run after the all star break the 1st place team was in "win now" mode, while the other 2 teams within 5 games were still balanced. I would think they would be the most likely to make a change, and the 1st place team would only make a move if it presented itself.
A team 30+ games out didn't go into rebuilding mode, while a team 18 out did.

they do change, but I think there's only a couple of times per season when they might.

One last question :)
I'm doing a historical game starting in 1901 and right now my home run record stands at 28, if I lower the requirement to enter the hall to say 300 for about 20 years or so will it kick those guys that make it out when I raise it back up to 500?
Same for wins. Right now I have it set to 250, but with guys winning 30 games a year I almost have to knock it up to 300 or more wins to enter the hall. If I set it to 300 or so and some guys fall short with 270 wins, will they get put in the hall when I lower that back down to 250?

You can always delete the guys from the Hall that you don't want in there at a later date.

Yea, I figured that out when a guy made the hall with a record of 252-232, with an era of 4.50+. That was what prompted my changes. I could understand if he was a truely dominant pitcher for a few seasons, but he was never better than average. I actually had never even heard of him when he got inducted. I removed him from the hall.
But I can already tell I am going to have some adding to do. The top hitter in my league right now came into the league at 27. He has an outside chance of staying around long enough to get to 2500 hits and keeping his average up, but I'd say its a long shot. He's won 3 straight MVPs, hitting .400 in each of those seasons. But his first season was a waste as he was just a late season callup and only had 20 at bats.
I think this game would make one hell of a dynasty if I had the desire to write it.

WOW, I think my league just took a turn for the shocking.
A 20 year old Ty Cobb wins league MVP and leads Boston from last place the year before they drafted him to a world series win in just his second year.
In his third season, a 21 year old Ty Cobb suffers a career ending injury and will be out of the league forever. Talk about something taking me by suprise.

BUMP:
Just ran into a problem with "run computer manager on entire team" buttom. From 1901-1915 I've hit that button at the start of the season and when he are able to field a 40 man roster each season.
Before the 1916 season I hit the button and the CPU releases my #2 and #4 starting pitches, and also releases a 4 1/2* CF prospect. I guess it isn't a huge deal, but it still upsets me a bit. I wish they just would have put them on waivers so I could have re-claimed them. Now none of them will even talk to me about re-signing.
I guess I learned my lesson, no more letting the CPU handle it.
