I'd agree with 95% of this - eerie. My full hour show would be BSG, and my best male character would be Steve Carrell, my female half hour would be Sarah Chalke alone -and I don't watch Deadwood or 24.

Eh, I like the show, but Barney's so over the top it ruins a little of the effectiveness. Carell seems more real in this post-college world. :D

Some folks think "Mafia" based shows/movies are overhyped macho trash.

Many people don't waste the extra 30 bucks a month on HBO and its entourage of worthless programming, and hence they never see it.
