Shorty: I will be honest I have no idea where to begin to think about money for SimGolf (I paid 40 or 45 when it came out) but I don't expect to get that much out of it for sure... Qwik, since no one else has answered you - yes, you plot out your units' moves in a turn-based system, one minute at a time, and then see them graphically portrayed. You can replay each turn as many times as you wish, zooming in and out, changing perspectives from unit to unit, up, down, left, right, etc. Watch the battle from behind your troops, and then watch it again from the enemy's perspective. Look over the shoulder of your 88 as it minces up a group of enemy armor. Watch the ground shake as you experience an artillery barrage.

I can't recommend this game highly enough for anyone interested in tactical World War II combat. Try the demo out. I'd be happy to answer any questions, so PM me if you want to.

Something else to consider. Since wbonnell did not have any games I wanted, I traded one of my games for one of his DVDs. For me at least, a game for DVD trade makes the most sense.

1 possibly 2 Voodoo 1 add on cards

5 different ethernet cards

1 P2 500 mghz computer with 128 RAM, CD-ROM , no hard drive

seperate and functional 40gig HD, will need to be formatted as it has my last installation of XP on it.

1 old joystick, still works, but I got a new one

thats about it for now, if you want anytihng let me know, I can guestimate shipping costs for you or I can let you know the final shipping cost on shipment.

I'd put all this on ebay as well, but I'd rather offer it to you guys first =)

Is that an expansion pack? It seems pretty high priced for one, that's for sure. Wasn't aware that Heroes of Might and Magic 3 had quite a few...

EDIT: I did some more scrounging, and there was a website that was offering that expansion pack you were looking for at $29.99, but no longer has it "in stock" or the like. In any case, I did some more scrounging again, and came up with this:

I remember once having an iteration of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 on hand somewhere...but I can't find it. That was a few years ago, though. I asked some of my buddies who've got nothing but dust building up on their PC games - and none of them have it either. :(

I've seen some kind of 'Combat Mission' game (something Barbarossa?) over at my local EBgames. EBgames might still carry it, if it's old? In any case, looked interesting. Something probably released in the 90s or what not?
That'd be Combat Mission II: Barbarossa to Berlin, and it's only a couple years old. In my opinion, it is the best tactical World War II computer game ever made. Buy it!

I'll have to check out that EB by my house, to see exactly how much that particular store is carrying it for. I noticed it was in one of those particular shelves...doubt it was used, but it seemed interesting. The graphics weren't anything revolutionary, I suppose, but easy on the eyes.

All in all, I couldn't tell if it was turn based or real time. Guess I had problems differentiating between versions of the Combat Missions. I think there was another one that was there also, something about 'Afrika' corporation or something?? :confused:

The games are hybrid turn-based. The turns are executed in one minute blocks of game time: you plot your moves in turn-based fashion, and then they are enacted by the AI with you as a spectator. You can replay the action as many times as you wish, from any/every angle. It would take awhile to explain it...just trust me, it's an outstanding game.

The third iteration of the Combat Mission series is set in North Africa...is that what you saw?
I probably saw the third iteration also then. It was spelled a bit awkwardly though, at least, I've never seen it spelled as being 'Afrika' or the like. But that was indeed one of the Combat Mission titles. Am I correct in guessing that this series has every scenario and situation depicted in WWII? Are their aerial units in this game as well? I'm going to have to go back there and check out the back of the box. I have to admit, though - when I usually scan the back of PC games, they're pretty light. However, the Combat Missions Barbarossa box felt like there was a ton of stuff within that thing. Didn't expect the box to be loaded down with stuff inside.

The games each ship with a bunch of battle scenarios, but the great fun (for me) is the quick random battles you can make on your own. The possibilities are virtually endless.

Yes, but they are rather abstract representations. You purchase them like a type of off-board artillery, and then the planes appear at random during the battle.

Didn't expect the box to be loaded down with stuff inside.
The manuals are simply outstanding. Some of the best in the business, IMO.

Mechwarrior 2 collection: 31st century combat(main game), ice bears legacy expansion, and mercenaries. Another dos/win98 based game that just won't run on XP. I spent weeks playing these things.

FOF Fourth edition, full CD case with license info. I moved on to FOF2k4, so this one's expendable.

A copy of a legally purchased CD of Football Pro '98, the orignal disc died a horrible flame induced death, but I found my backup cd in the shelf, still works perfectly.

Forgotten Realms silver edition Archives. All those old DOS based D&D games that let you make 6 characters and run through all the stories, great fun, again, not functional on newer machines.

That being said, I haven't opened up NWN in quite a while, and while I want to finish it...it's probably going to be a while before I get to it again. If you want that trade, let me know.

As for console games...well, my strength in that area lies in the Playstation 2 Department :) I don't have X-Box, and my GameCube Library is sadly lacking (Metroid Prime 2 is the only game I've bought since Metroid Prime 1). Let me know if you want NWN Platinum for Sim City 4 -- it's the DVD version, so you need a DVD drive. The disc has NWN and both expansions.

I'm downloading FM2006 Gold Demo right now and that has reminded me that I've got a copy of FM2005 to unload. I never could get into it -- mainly because I don't know much about soccer. One thing I did like was the player/manager interaction and since they've expanded that for the new one maybe this'll be what pulls me over the hump..

Of course if you don't like a game and/or finish it you should LEGALLY be allowed to trade or sell it. Unfortunately some game companies decide that they don't want you to... Because some people will do things that aren't fair for the game company like sell it and then continue to use their copy...

I was pretty skeptical at first, but I finally used it. Some folks have been doing movies, and some CDs too, and even books. So far, I managed to get 2 Game Boy Advance games that I've been meaning to pick up (complete with boxes and manuals) which I've handled with PayPal.

$15 a piece, that included shipping too.

The site relies heavily on the 'honor system', which, understandably, is really hard to swallow with some folks. I bit the bullet and lucked out for the most part - it seems a lot of folks are always trading and exchanging stuff.

The policy for new folks is pretty simple - new folks end up having to 'send' first, and when the other party receives, a flag is marked, etc...etc..until you or the other person finally receives his/her end of the bargain. First, you'd probably add whatever you have 'available' for trading (in my case, PayPal is what I've got 'available') and then put on your list what you're looking for out there. If you don't have the exact name of the actual game or whatever, it'll give you a list of suggestions, and they're pretty up to date. From that point on, it'll do a match-search, and you'll get an email of possible traders.

For me, on my first trade (Advance Wars 2 GBA, with box and manual), I kind of clicked the 'Make an Offer' thing, and stated that I'm interested in making a trade, and how much exactly he was looking for including shipping. From that point on, I got an email back later that day with a 'Counter Offer' asking if $15 was cool with me, to which I accepted the offer (again, via clicks). In my opinion, it was pretty painless - though the interface probably takes awhile to get used to.

Normally, I'd probably take the eBay route of bidding on something I've been meaning to get, but in a case like this, I figured I couldn't find any other better deal - and without the hassle of an auction.

Also, if you click on the user's profile, it'll also display any BTRs (Bad Trader Review) marks left on that person by other folks, with some pretty detailed reports by other folks, as well as how many Incidents that user had reported against other users, etc...etc. So if you find somebody who's got something you're looking for, and they want something from your collection, you've always got the option of reviewing the profile for what other folks have stated about him and such, etc..etc.

In short: I've lingered on that site for awhile, primarily as a way for me to keep a checklist of what it is that I've got (I still haven't gotten around to adding to my 'Book Collection' listing of Comics/TPBs). I'm pretty happy I took the dive into the whole trading arena, and when it comes around to me wanting to finally capitalize on collecting the Devil May Cry game series for the PS2, along with the Jak & Dexter and Ratchet & Clank sagas, I'd probably do it on GameTZ.

Picked up Sword of the Stars on sale; it's an interesting game, but just not my cup of tea. Like-new, and only $15 + shipping takes it home!
