The team at the Digital Stadium (http://www.digitalstadium.org) at SportsDigs.com (http://www.sportsdigs.com) is proud to announce the launch of a new website and forum for text sims, sports, news, computer games, and general discussion.

We will be posting original content, including regular interviews with game developers and other persons of interest. Our inaugural feature, 10 Questions with Gary Gorski, is currently online and available.

To celebrate the launch of the site, and the start of the NCAA tournament, we are also offerring a free copy of Gary's latest game, Total College Basketball!

Details are available at the site. We invite you to come over, kick the tires, and tell us what you think of the new digs.

Franklin has done a lot of good things, and brought some talented people in to make a sports sim fansite that will set itself apart from other sites.

Franklin and the guys/gals have worked especially hard on the layout, features, and ideas, please stop in and look around... I think you might find it interesting and informative, fun, and a great alternate site to get your sports and games fix.

Congratulations FN. You did a great job.

I wouldn't say it's closing, actually. The "gold" membership for the crummy EZBoard is paid for three months. But more importantly, we actually had one user come on to the board with an actual FOF question - he had found the place doing a search on EZBoard for "Front Office Football" So, there's at least some value in leaving the board there, even if it's not going to be active.

WVUFan already had the webspace and a killer hosting plan that didn't cost him too much at all, so, right now, we don't need to do any advertising.

Fortunately, the SportsDigs effort includes a team of people that bring a lot of great ideas and professional expertise to the project. What you see there is a result of a great collaborative effort.

Have to agree completely with this. The wording and the rolleyes are going to add uneeded fuel to the fire, but what is the point of this new board? It is FOFC without as many visitors or posts. Give me a break if the answer involves something stupid like modding.

By that logic, there should only be one website for sports information. After all, SI and ESPN both cover the same sports. Surprisingly, there's dozens upon dozens upon dozens of forums and websites devoted to similar subjects, and that's the way it should be.

By your thread of reasoning, there should only be one forum for general football talk. Or talk about World of Warcraft, or any other game. Or only one brand for toothpaste. After all, why offer more than one type of a similar thing?

Many forums have similar topics and discussions, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist. Sportsdigs exist for alternative discussion, especially about things other than FOF, since there are other games out there. We're not trying to be FOFC Part 2, and I'm sorry if that's how you see it.

You should check your hearing, because Skydog and his moderating style has not been mentioned ONCE on Sportsdigs.

We're not here to do anything but provide a new site for sports sims and discussion. I don't understand why people would have a problem with it. Skydog doesn't seem to (yeah, he knows about the site). We're not here to REPLACE FoFC, nor bash it, not say anything negative about it. Hell, I'm posting in both places and people should (and will continue to do so).

Why you would seemingly go out of your way to bash something you evidently have not given a shot to is disapointing.

If somebody got kicked off the Colgate board because their wife was a troll and then tried to create several different Aquafresh or Crest boards that all failed I would call that person out also. I don't get the obsession with this place. I like it, but if people on here did something to piss me off I would leave. I wouldn't leave, come back, leave, come back, on and on trying to win people back over that don't seem to care.

The 48 Hour Rule -You are not permitted to complain about any particular incident outside of one particular thread, and not for more than a period of 48 hours. There are a lot of folks drawn over here because they are unwelcome or dissatisfied with other boards, but Digital Stadium is not here for people to cry about that. You are granted one thread to vent your frustration, and you are expected to be done venting within 48 hours. After that, your thread will be locked, and you'll be expected to move on and contribute in a more positive manner.

Sportsdigs is MY web space, not FranklinNoble's, if you want to be technical about it. The site itself was designed by Icy and myself (mostly Icy), not FranklinNoble. The content and decisions about content were made by a group of people, including a moderator on this board, not just FranklinNobel. True, he is a administrator, but this is truly a group effort with a number of people.

So unless you're referring to my wife, I think you're mistaken. And I'm not married. :)

I would tell you that I wouldn't be on it if it tried to recruit people from FOFC to come over and not come back. By your logic, you can only belong to one messageboard or another. I think that's somewhat flawed.

You might be surprised, but I frequent quite a few messageboards and I'm not locked down to just one.

My issues with the modding was clear, and then I said I would drop it when I was in the minority. I've dropped it, not mentioned it since(until now), and I still post here. I don't have a problem with SkyDog.

Again, and let me make this clear -- Sportsdigs isn't there to rag on FOFC or Skydog. If you choose not to visit, that's entirely up to you, but you are mistaken if you think it's here to attack anyone or any forum.

Again, sorry if you feel this way, but it's simply not true.

FWIW, I got the 2K news from IGN.com. I was surfing for relevant gaming news, and posted the threads. I didn't realize FOFC had exclusive rights to invite commentary on any particular issue.

Nobody's attacking FOFC, SkyDog, or anyone/anything else here. I don't know why you feel provoked over something like this - we're not trying to take down FOFC or even compete with FOFC.

As it's been stated by others in this thread, most of what's over there isn't even my doing - it's folks who have never been banned, suspended, or had any other major issue with FOFC. A few people got together, came up with an idea, and have tried to share it with as many people as we can. Most of the response has been positive.

I'm sorry you feel differently. I hope you'll give it a chance, and see what we're really about.

I am confused. Are you saying that the ads are only here because people want them here? Is it an option for some people? Is there a way to turn them off that I don't know of?

I for one would love to remove all the ads and redirects at this site. The ads here are just getting rediculous. I have full motion video at the top of my screen trying to load. If I move my mouse over the ad it blows up. I also have ads now floating across my screen at this site. And on top off all that crap, I also keep getting redirected to another full page ad.

Are you now telling me that these ads are all my choice? If it is by choice, please for the love of god tell me how to turn these things off.

The ads here in FOFC are because this is a free hosting service provided by gamespy so in exchange they display the ads. Sportdigs uses paid hosting so of course there are no ads but it cost money to maintain while FOFC is free.
