Looking forward to the fight. Anyone expecting a slugfest type of fight is probably gonna be disappointed. Toney is generally all about his defense, leading his shoulder as the only target.
Half the fun of seeing Toney fight is getting to listen to his prefight interviews, the man can certainly talk. Also a bit of fun to see his David Well's body win matches ;)

Toney is the 'Slickest' defensive fighter i think i've ever seen and his counter punching is second to none.
If he was born 4-5 inches taller, he would have been the Heavywieght champian for a long long long time.

I can see the scoring as a draw. I had it 115-113 at home for Rahman, so 114-114 isn't out of the question.
Toney was better technically, but Rahman was a lot more active.

gotta disagree there, Toney was much better technically yeah, but you can't lay on the ropes and not throw punches for 30-45 second stretches, then land a few clean ones and think you won the round/fight.

Unfortunatly, I am currently reaidng with my WoW guild so I didn't see the whole fight. We are fighting Nef, so there's 15 minutes of downtime between each fight, so I got to see about 60% or 70% of the fight. What I saw was a pretty close fight. Maybe Rahman won more decisively in the rounds I missed, which is certainly possible, but I saw the first 4 rounds, and from the middle of round 8 to the end. Since I was missing some of it, I was not mentally scoring the fight, but I thought some of those rounds were devinately close and could have been scored either way.

the espn guy had Rahman win like 116-112 and im pretty sure most of the hosts saw it that way to. I know i did, but who really cares. I love watching boxing but this sport has become such a joke its almost not worth my time.

...and the reality that I lack cable or a dish of any kind rears it's ugly head once again. <sigh>

I definitely had Rahman winning the fight.
Either fighter say anything good post fight? I turned it off after the decison was read.

Rahman - James Toney is a great fighter and a hall of famer, but he wasn't 100% cause he's fat and out of shape.
Toney - ijfjdbh;uagfu;riouh hifh ihjfejf jfehfe fiej'kfd plkcxjb
Thats basically what it sounded like to me anyway :)
