Well,
Just spent the past 8 weeks away from home. Not able to fly back, just talk via web cam and cell phone with them, I have felt like HA every time I look at a giant sub.
My 4 month old baby is 6 months now and he has 8 teeth it is crazy....
Is the job worth it? Right now, it still is, as I am able to do what I love and get paid a great salary, keeping my wife home with the kids.
Anyways, just thought I would let you all know, you won't hear to much from me in the next few days....:D , then I have 2 months of reading and such to catch up....

Farrah....yeah he weened himself pretty much before I left, he wanted nothing to do with it the minute he started getting teeth.
As for where I have been...
Florida, South Carolina and Georgia for work.
I work for a technology training and consulting company, I manage training tours for public and private sectors with our company.
I was in charge of a wild and crazy tour that we basically trained Wal-Mart Electronics dept associates on the new high end technologies that they are getting in the dept throughout the year in order to compete with Best Buy and Circuit City. In fact, my truck was parked at the Tucker Wal-Mart all weekend a couple of weeks ago.
We hit 100 stores in 7 weeks, it boiled down to 3 stores a day, and we did 2 1-hour training sessions per store. I have to do this to be able to do the non profit which is where we hit schools and spend all day training students in the use of technology to enrich their lives and daily activities.

wow. that's a helluva trade off. My dad was a travelling salesman growing up, but he usually had two week stints, not two months. Congrats on getting back home.

That much travelling must have wreaked havok on the old workout schedule.

Yup...I didn't get time to map out where the Golds Gym's are in relation to the hotels I was staying at, but as for time, I didn't have any of it either.
The tradeoff is generally 5 weeks on, 5 weeks off and when I am off, I am still getting paid, so it is generally there. for me and my position, I am on the road 25 weeks out of the year, so it isn't that bad, the rest of the time I am at home working for the company, they just recently put me in charge of employee development and training so I get to create personalized training plans and goals for each individual employee.

Wow... that sucks. I can't imagine being away from my wife and kids for that long. I've had offers for that sort of contract work, but there's no amount of money that would make it worth it.
