So my roommate and I have been suspecting that someone in our apartment complex has been hooking up to our wireless router. We just haven't gotten around to encrypting it. Well today I got home from work and found out which neighbors it was, I actually know her, she always wants to hangout and shit but I blow her off.
I'd love to fuck with her PC if I knew how, but I don't. Any suggestions before I put the encryption in? haha

Take a crap in her closet. Worked for Najeh Davenport.

see if you can track what sites she visits when she's on your network. use this info to your advantage.

you dont even have to encrypt, just only allow your mac addresses. other than that, sniffing is illegal and leeching wifi isnt... i wouldnt mess around with her.

So you have a network unencrypted and want to screw with someone for stealing the signal?
How about you put up the firewall and password protect your network first.
As for her, I'd just be happy all she was doing was snagging a wifi signal and that she didn't want to screw with your network instead.

We put up a password.
She is doable.
She actually sent me a text message earlier tonight asking what I was doing tonight.
I sent her a message asking if she enjoyed the free internet while it lasted. She replied "yea, how did you know?"
My roommate suggests we offer to give her the password in exchange for blowjobs, then we give her the wrong password. I like the idea. haha

Just tell her its time for her to pay you back (in knob polishings of course) for the free internet.

i know lots of people in the network engineering business who would disagree that sniffing is illegal... Especially since it is his network.

I actually run my wifi network wide open to share with my neighbors. Granted, I've only got two neighbors close enough to use it, but I plan to construct a tower in my field this summer and try to amplify/bounce my signal so it covers all 60 acres of my property.
Why I'd ever want to surf the net in the nether reaches of my wooded lot, I don't know, but it ought to be a fun experiment.
Until the FCC comes in and crushes me, I mean.

It sounds like you could do her with or without the free internet. Why not see where she surfs to see if it's anything kinky, sleep with her if she's a freak, then lock down the wifi.

Yesterday I got black out drunk, from like 3-7pm and she came over. I tried something fierce to get on her, no dice. No internet for her.

Now all she has to do is go to the closest hotel and use theirs.
It's funny how many people have unsecured networks. I'm seriously thinking about putting flyers out that say, "Is your network secure?" on the front and then on the back say, "That's funny, when I put this on your door I was using your wireless router." I could charge like $40 for putting a WEP key in place.

This would be a good place to ask this- my old roommate hooked up my wireless network in my house, the only thing that runs on wireless is my tivo. I need to set a password, but I have no idea how to do this...is it easy? How could I go about doing it? Without paying Mizzou $40 ;)

Sniffing your own network is not illegal. I'm fairly sure connecting to someone elses WiFi is(not that it's really enforced).
Edit: missed the I stand corrected post ;).
