1. Wake up at 5 AM go to work
2. Text message girlfriend to see how she is doing.
3. Try to work with broken assigning program and figure out my worker's assignments.
4. One on one talk with one worker stating I was angry at the group the day prior (I wasn't)
5. Go into muster quell and calm my employees, send them on their way.
6. Get text messages that my girlfriend is breaking up with me.
7. At 9 AM get call from project manager stating major water supply is cut and testing needs to be immediately done, he requests work that would take more than the manpower I had.
8. At 9:15 AM states that this is a priority above all others and that plant directors are demanding it done.
9. After several text messages with my girlfriend (ex), I'm also managing to page and bring back all my lab helpers for new assignments as a migraine blooms in my head.
10. Meet with my boss for 1 on 1 meeting as chaos reigns all around me, meeting was uneventful except that a job task I was initially pulled off of is now being reassigned to me, it is a worthless and tedious exercise that would only give me more fits and reasons to leave the company (which is going bellyup anyway)
11. Rally the troops and manage to get the workers out collecting the critical new sites, still working with a broken assignment system (the system tech took the day off after upgrading the system, while this borders on incompetance, he is the only one who is capable of fixing the system, therefore he is a deity in the department and cannot be trifled with).
12. Still text messaging back and forth with ex, but manage to get a face to face meet as well as an early dismissal due to mental fatigue
13. Drive 1 hour to pick up daughter, meet my ex-gf (prior to the one just now breaking up with me) My daughter is happy to see me but she is coated with a film of smoke and B.O. -she is 5.
14. Drive 30 minutes home, walk dogs and thankfully my brother watches my daughter while I meet with my soon to be ex-gf.
15. We chat, no agruements or battles, I respect her view, she is working two jobs and going to school and not doing too well, she feels she's overburdened and that staying with me is too difficult. She feels I should see other people and that maybe in August try again.
16. I pour my heart out to her stating that her argument doesn't really matter to me, (I'm a vet at long distance relationships) and that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel (August) and that I would be fine if I only saw her in little snips of time til then. I tell her to think it over and not give me an answer right away, and also not to txt me the answer.
17. We hug and she goes to work and I go home.
18. Bout 30 seconds driving from her house she txts me saying that she can't be in the relationship apologizes for txting but stated she'd break down if she did it otherwise.
19. I reply back, "ok" and head home.
20. Cook ravioli for my daughter and me, happy time.
21. Promise my daughter ice cream, Cold Stone Creamery, we proceed to eat only half.
22. Promised my daughter, we wash the pups.
23. While cleaning up, they escape and one of the pisses on the carpet.
24. Disciplining the pups
25. Take my daughter out food shopping as we have nothing left, she wants the little truck cart, to ride in, then proceeds about 10 minutes later to want to push it--all over, into displays and the like, also I have less room to fill the cart up with groceries and I got a big list.
25. Manage to not go crazy doing this all in the self check out aisle, my daughter trys to pack soap with bread, and scan things multiple times...I refrain from doing anything traumatic
26. Push 300 dollars worth of groceries out of the store and my daughter asks to ride the mini merri go round, it's 10 pm now.
27 Unload 300 dollars worht of groceries by myself since my brother (who asked for half the stuff) isn't home.
28 Shower daughter who was in need of a thorough cleaning.
29 Settle down watch a movie "Howl's Moving Castle" after weeks of cajoling my daughter into watching it.
30 See that my ex (most recent) has tried to call me, while checking voicemail...she calls again, only to hear a guy's voice, apparantly my ex (most recent) has become nonresponsive at a bar and they're transporting her to the trauma center, she had been asking for me...
31 I wake my brother and his gf to watch Zia after explaining to her why I need to go.
32 Dress for the hospital, drive to hospital (30 minutes away)
33 It's now about 12:30 AM, I'm at the emergency ward (after trying to find parking), they tell me that she can't see anyone for 1 to 2 hours. They tell me she's breathing.
34 After waiting till 1:30 a doc comes up (on resident on call)...basically tells me to go home, I won't be able to see her and that if I'm her ride home to expect a call in the morning (I had expected this but wanted to get a final prognosis before leaving--whatever they could actually divulge--no one else friends or family was there)
35 Driving home passing a major police roadblock and a drunk driving taskforce checkpoint that wasn't set up yet...
36 Home, my daughter is asleep but the coffee I drank is still coursing caffeine through my veins and I had to write this and vent that while I may not have a bad life, there may be some people worse off out there, but I really have trials and tribulations way too much.
37 It's 3 AM, I am heading for bed.

Your girlfriend ended it by text message? That's pretty lame.

I kept thinking "wow, if this is just a typical day..."

Good luck with everything.

I managed to get a few winks of sleep, my daughter ever the early bird demanded attention around 7:30.
Walked the dogs, my dog went potty, while my brother's (who I believe pissed on the carpet last night) did not.
After watching "Howl's Moving Castle" (not bad), but my daughter didn't want to watch it all.
Called the hospital, no change in my ex's (most recent) condition, she is not discharged nor admitted, that weird limbo of the E.R.

I was fine with the break up, it didn't stun me. I think it upset my ex more than me (as if you can't tell).

I appreciate the support, I really am tired of events like these popping in my life and no way to vent.

And this is typical for me, I need a job, a new start, and a woman who won't go nuts (I'm starting to think I will never find someone minimally stable to be with) And this ex was nowhere near as horrific as the one prior.

I keep moving forward, there is no other option.

But other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
;)

Hang in there Qwikshot, brutal day but you're still kickin' & that's always a good bottom line to remember.

Just a small update:

The good news: I got to spend time with my daughter. My ex is okay and was discharged from the hospital. Her heartrate had been recorded below 30 bpm and had a BAC of 2.08. She is fine now and we've talked. She wanted to stay over Sunday night but I balked simply because that was the main issue prior and I needed a decent night sleep (after watching the Sopranos).

The bad news: Work is stressing me, I gotta go to my boss and discuss matters. I know I'm something of a loose cannon at work (because I come in early, I'm highly proactive, and I micromanage and keep lines of communication open -- apparantly that scares the bejeezus out of my coworkers). I'm a people person, the union and I interact well to get the jobs done but I'm in one of those precarious positions where the job is slowly being phased out. I voiced my concerns about this at my review (had a great review) and told my boss I didn't want unfavorable tasks handed off to me to pick up for the lack of additional work...sure enough Friday I get the start of I guess many handoff jobs. I'm basically going to ask her that this is not the direction I want to go (I gotta clean off the resume, any one need someone with pharacuetical experience? I got 7 years work a bunch of awards of excellence and a willingness to learn and work hard?)

where do you live?

Oh, I live outside of Philadelphia by 30 minutes. I would (for now) like to work in the Tri State area (Eastern PA, North or South Jersey, Southern NY, Delaware). I would consider outside of the area but it would have to be promising. I currently earn about 57k, but money isn't so much an issue as being close to Zia.

0.20 BAC: Felling dazed, confused or otherwise disoriented. May need help to stand or walk. If you injure yourself you may not feel the pain. Some people experience nausea and vomiting at this level. The gag reflex is impaired and you can choke if you do vomit. Blackouts are likely at this level so you may not remember what has happened.

0.25 BAC: All mental, physical and sensory functions are severely impaired. Increased risk of asphyxiation from choking on vomit and of seriously injuring yourself by falls or other accidents.

Pretty impressive for a 100 pound woman, I am truly amazed.

0.40 BAC and up: Onset of coma, and possible death due to respiratory arrest.

Are you sure about that 2.08?
