It’s a strange experience going back to the old SportPlanet FOFC these days. I had to check some information in one of my old threads, and I was struck by how odd it felt.

It’s like a ghost town. No members logged in, a handful of guests wandering about like zombies, and the banner ads plugging away for an audience of none. It’s like a post-apocalyptic wasteland...you half expect a giant cockroach to waltz by chasing Jan Michael Vincent on his motorbike.

I guess it’s kind of like an old house. All the happenings that took place there, good and bad, are now mere memories. Sorry to sound so sappy, it just really struck me this time.

And then there's that host of treasure buried in the various threads and dynasties…

Whoops. The order is reversed from the previous board for the URL and descriptions.

I fixed it.

dola

Does anyone know how the old threads are brought over to the new board? There are a couple I'd like to keep active, but other than cutting and pasting (which would be a gargantuan task) I don't have a clue how to do it.

Feels like the Alien movie when they go back to that planet and all is quiet... at first.... then smack! a lurker hits you upside the head!

I definitely sitll have the old site bookmarked and out of habit I've gone there. Creepy stuff seeing how it didn't register any new posts and I get confused for 1.5 seconds and qucikly leave before I become nostalgic or freaked out.
