I guess Dateline is doing a story on the possitivity of myspace.com for bands. My friends, who have signed a major label deal, are going to be featured in some aspect.

I worked with these guys about 2 years ago. They lucked out because the Black Eyed Peas were in our other studio that night. Will I Am came over to check the band out and liked what he heard. He tried to get them signed to his sub. label but it didn't work out. Eventually, they got a deal from Epic based, in part, on what they did with our studio.

While their new stuff isn't as good as what they were doing back then, I am very proud of em for beating the odds somewhat.

Here is a zip file of the EP that I did with them.

dola:

they were going to change their name to Sneaker 2 Bombs. That got shot down, thank god! The singer and guitar player (Kirby) did put out a solo disc under that name but that was the end of it.

Haha no it's cool, they sound decent, just not my cup of tea.

I do however love Silent Drive. Those guys are awesome live.

Oh... I thought the chick who pisses herself while on stage fronts the group.

Not mine either. Like I said, the stuff that they did with us, before the songs on myspace, are much heavier. I like those more.

Shit, I don't like a lot of the stuff I have worked on. I just think it's cool that bands I have worked with have gone on to better things. That's what it is about for me. I don't need the platinum records or grammys like some engineers keep track of. I just want to say that I helped band 'X' get to where they are, etc.

Indeed. I saw them on the Comeback Kid/Bane/With Honor tour. I dug them, but a lot of the kids weren't into them. I really enjoyed their album, though.

I work at another studio where Atmosphere does all his stuff. I have hung out with him and Ant many times...drinking coffee and shootin the shit. Great guys.

Yeah. My buddies and I spent our spring break last year following that tour. We saw them in Baltimore, Philly and Boston. Amazing. Totally amazing.

SD is releasing a new CD this year apparently as well as another US tour, so it should be more good times.

Plus it's almost 4/16.
