For bragging rights, my current tally is

1 Dell Dimension 4600 (wife)
1 Dell Dimension 4700 (kids)
1 Dell PowerEdge SC420 (mine)
1 Dell Latitude (old, mine)
1 IBM Thinkpad X41 (mine)
1 Toshiba Satellite (old, wife)

Thinking about adding either a Dell Latitude D620 or IBM Thinkpad T60 soon.

Why three laptops, and two for the wife?

"FBPromatic", assembled mine from purchased parts(the only way to go), never trusted "mainstream assembly line PC's".

1 8 year old Compaq desktop
1 1 year old Compaq desktop
1 7 year old Compaq laptop
1 3 year old Compaq laptop
1 3 month old Compaq laptop (for the wife)
Looking to get a new laptop for myself in June...probably Compaq.

I have not had the problems with the Compaq line that others have had. Brand loyalty, I guess...

You do realize that the last two Compaq's you've purchased, and any future Compaq's you purchase, are actually Hewlett-Packard PC's?

(I liked Compaq better before HP bought them out)

Galaxy. The Toshiba is a laptop that I retired 5+ years ago. My wife uses the old Toshiba because she has some sewing software (with a sewing machine) that works in DOS! Believe it or not, there's not a Windows version yet.

The Latitude was formerly my primary laptop and is now a backup for my current X41. Its sitting around unused.

Daimyo. I'm not a FPS or hardcore gamer, so the GMA 900, MX400 and ATI 9250 in my Dells works great. Minimal issues with my Dimensions so far and you can't beat the price/configuration if you look out for the sales.

I know folks think Dell sell crappy equipment, but from my experience the Dimensions are great.

1 custom desktop PC (a good 3-4 years old, in need of an ugprade)
2 ThinkPad T23s (original one was a P3 1.2Ghz, but the system board went out on me, got another for $350 that's the 1.13Ghz model) My 1.2 is a 1400 res, and this 'new' one is just a 1024 res.
