OK, I've probably oversold this ... but my organization is hosting a fundraising poker tournament later this month and as a staff "fun day" we brought in the tournament organizers who will run the tournament to organize a staff HL HE tourney for prizes.
The guy running the tourney for us was ... wait for it ... Brian Raymer -- brother of Greg "Fossilman" Raymer.
He was a real nice guy. I'd like to report that I cleaned house with the fish, but I sidestepped landmines of fish for 2 1/2 hours before we were three-handed and I pushed with middle pair ... only to get called by a 55-year-old saleswoman who played A7. I was shortstacked due to the stupidity of other players. The guy to might right had about 5 times my stack because he called an all-in with A high to beat Q high. Ugh.
I folded 52o on the hand pre-flop and would have won if I stayed in with a two on the river. Double ugh.

I don't play poker but I got to hang out with Howard Lederer and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson for about three hours last week. Could've played poker with them, but since I don't play I saw no need.
Yes, I'm writing this just to annoy the poker players on the board. :p

We're only annoyed because it deprives us of hearing how you lost an ass load of money to Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson. :)

Weren't they here last week to lobby against the anti-gambling bill that is under consideration?

Not a IRL encounter, but I was in a WSOP satellite at Stars last week and I was sitting next to Mike Matusow for about an hour.

Did he blow up and start berating the table? If not, that qualifies as a major disappointment.

He didn't talk to the table at all actually. A major disappointment indeed

See, I'm a smart gambler in that I know better than to play poker to those guys.
Actually, no money changed hands, and they were letting people win in order to spread good cheer among the bloggers. It was very amusing to see some naive DNC worker brag about winning "$400" from Jesus.

I was at the Starbucks in the Golden Nugget a few years ago, and was right in front of Jesus when he ordered his mocha. I also was walking in front of Phil Helmuth just before my wife decided to talk about what an asshole he is. He didn't appear to hear us.

I saw Men the Master and Danel Negaru at the WPT Event in Tunica. I also was sitting at the next table to Coyt Horkins at the WSOP in Tunica but we were playing in different events.

Sadly, it's the story of my life. The incident happened over a year ago, and I still get people sitting down at online tables with me and asking "r u the bounty hunter lol". I'm getting pretty sick of it.

Really, it's all pretty simple. For some reason, my "target" annoyed me a little bit. I think he chewed out a bad player at the table and made the fish leave. Instead of ignoring the guy, I decided to have a little fun with him, so I followed him to another table and that's where it all started. That article only shows part of the conversation, but it gets the idea across.
Anyway, the next day, I had forgotten about it. It wasn't until a week or two later that I found out about the thread on the CardPlayer forums. I didn't even know CardPlayer had forums until I got an e-mail from some guy I don't know. He just sent me a link to the thread, and it turns out that my "target" had posted on the forums to make fun of me. The thread turned into a classic at CardPlayer, and I went from being the butt of a joke to a forum icon. Every month or two, someone bumps the thread, and while it irks me a little bit, I don't even visit the forum that much.
It wasn't until about a month ago that someone I know decided to Google "Pumpy Tudors" and saw the article that I linked to here. Apparently, this one thing that I did as a total and forgettable joke just will not die.

Dola
Just to clarify, although I say that I'm getting sick of it, I don't mind discussing it here. I guess I'm just annoyed at getting messages from people who don't know anything about me except that one thing. In particular, I wish the CardPlayer forum regulars would just let it go. It's been a year, and they love me on the forum now, but I never did it to become a celebrity.

If you are already a celebrity over there now, you should show them the Cereal Killer shirt; they will name their children after you.
