Just curious with all the diet-related threads in the last month. Back in high school and early college, I fell into the first group, but these days could stand to lose about 20-30 pounds. Sadly, I never spent any time at number 2.

Put me in the 20-30 Lb. area.. Although 35-40 is probably more like it.
Amazing how when you stop the serious activites (ie: College Basketball for me.. Small time NAIA mind you), but still stay somewhat active, the pounds slowly but surely creep up on you.
Too much nasty eating more than anything, I'd say.

I'm proud of myself for being just about right at the present time. 6'2 175. In probably the best shape of my life, because I'm training for the L.A. Marathon next month. My only concern right now is that I've traded some strength training over the last few months for cardio. Need to make myself do push-ups at night.

I'm about 5'11 and 170. I've gained like 30 pounds in 3 years in college. Funny thing is, if I were a running back, I'd be at a pretty decent weight.

Poll a group of women and your results would be skewed to the high side.

I'm around 5'10'' and 210. Not bad from the standpoint that I was around 200-205 in high school ('91), but bad that the weight has become, how we say, "reapportioned".
I did get to 180 my senior year in college though, from Tae-Kwon-Do practice and a ton of basketball. That and eating just veggies, spaghetti and ramen noodles (about as anti-Atkins as you can get!).
Started gaining it back when I met my wife, who loves to eat out :)

5'10", 175...I'd call that about right :)
It's kinda sad, to think about this, but anyways...at the beginning of my freshman year at college, I was 5'10", about 135. Then came the dorms, and an unlimited meal plan at the cafeteria, and by the end of the year, we're talking the freshman 40. I was 5'10" 175-180 by the end of the year, and I've held steady ever since. A steady regiment of two intramural basketball games a week, one intramural racquetball game, and other random exercise is enough for me :)

I came out of the Marines at 175lbs. Three years later and I was 196lbs. I lived on fast food. Two more years later and I went on a low fat, high fiber diet, lost 21lbs in one month. A little over three more years later I now weigh 171lbs and watch what I eat. I haven't had a Big Mac in over 5 years! :)
Thanks Dr. Gabe Mirkin! It's the best $20 book I have ever bought, in fact my dad just lost 20lbs in 1 1/2 months on this plan - he wasn't as strict as I was or he would have lost more.
