View Full Version : I Hate This Job And You!!

The time has come... the shit will hit the fan when I submit my resignation tomorrow. What's hysterical is that after months of working my ass off, I finally get an assistant to help with my workload and I'm leaving them with a heap of paperwork. Too little, too late
I'm always at a loss for words when submitting letters of resignation so I googled "resignation letter" and found the following:
Dear [Recipient's name]:
Yesterday I woke up and realized that this is the worst career experience I've ever had. Therefore, I'm officially notifying you of my resignation from [company name]. My last day will be today.
This company has many problems. [insert problems here]
On top of that, I can't stand to work for you any longer. You, alone, have been a constant source of pain and suffering for me ever since I started this job. I can't understand how you made it this far in the professional community.
Today is a great day for me. I will never have to see, hear or listen to you ever again. Goodbye, and good-riddance!
Warmest Regards,
[Your Signature]
Funniest thing I've ever seen!! Anyway, my supervisor is off tomorrow so I won't be able to submit my resignation to her, but to someone else... DAMN! Oh well.
I'm stoked to say goodbye to Phoenix and hello to Austin, TX!

dola,
Oh, and no, I won't be submitting this as my resignation letter.

Funny, I debated using something similar at my last job. Instead I chose to ignore them and stopped going to work. Found a better job. Now those assholes know what it's liked to be ignored for a change.

DC,
Good for you! You've been having some issues lately, if I remember correctly, and I think that this is probably the best thing you could do for yourself!

The Half Baked resignation speech would be my first choice.
Scarface: Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you're cool, and fuck you, I'm out!
But it loses something when printed instead of spoken.
Good luck with the move!

I once made a co-worker's resignation letter. She LIT me up. They actually put the damn thing in my file.
The deal was...I was training her, and she only lasted like ten days. Oh yeah SHE WAS A RAVING BITCH. She resigned but basically she was let go for writing a complaint letter to a senior VP, basically ripping him out for some things he had done, including chewing me out for one of her mistakes(actually my failure to double check her work).
To put the chewing out into perspective. Her mistake was to deposit a bank's cash reserves into the Federal Reserve account of another bank. So it was a pretty big deal. This senior VP(My Boss', boss', boss) walked into the data center called me into the server room, a separate room with glass walls, and explained the situation to me while all my co-workers looked on. I got the point. Anyway she was so pissed that he yelled at me, instead of her, that she wrote him a letter. I liked her so little that I didn't talk her out of it.
The funny thing is I can't remember exactly what it was that she complained about me in her resignation, just that she distinctly didn't like me.

I hope it's not standard practice in the banking industry to allow brand new trainees the access and opportunity to make that kind of mistake.

Dude, lots of places have upgraded to broadband by now. A couple hours on a high-speed line and you'll never go back to a dialup job again.

dola,
I've submitted my resignation from jobs more time than I can remember and each time has been very difficult so I was really nervous this morning. I gave my letter and left her office breathing a sigh of relief.
Now I fell like Hell Atlantic did a few weeks ago... I feel damn invincible!! Thank God it's over with. Now I gotta keep things as professional as possible for references in the future.

Ding ding ding.
Even if you've just won the lotto and never plan to work again, it is good to never burn a bridge. Not that you would need them again, but pissing off people, while enjoyable at the moment, can always lead to unintended consequences later... e.g., imagine if you move to a new job and love it and then the old boss you BURNED gets hired at your new job and maybe even becomes your boss again.
I have a very active imagination, but I'm sure this type of shit happens.
Even so... CONGRATS! I've always left my jobs for better employment, but have always felt horrible leaving because I felt like I was leaving them high-and-dry (but, I probably wouldn't have left if they compensated me properly :D)
GOOD LUCK DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

That's funny to me. Coming from Phoenix and having lived in California, the traffic in Austin is nothing. Now I hear it is different in Houston, but Austin doesn't have traffic as far as I am concerned.

its all at the rush hours that last 3 hours each. thanks to our stellar state and city government, we have two and three lane highways to support a town that needs the same 4 and 5 lane highways other cities have. we've got to be on a very short list of cities that has a highway that gets down to one lane . . . into a stop light
they've started clearing out for the expansion project finally. to be completed in 2018

Yeah, the incredible slowness of the freeway expansion is rather annoying, but unless you have a house in one of the suburbs, the rush hours aren't anything compared to Dallas/Houston. Plus, there are enough back ways that, once you learn the city a bit, you should be fine. At least that's what I think and I've lived here my entire life.

i live just north of disch-falk, so anytime i need to get anywhere in the afternoon, all i see is a wall of cars on 35. 15th street may have kept me from committing homicide
before that i lived in oak hill, so i had to deal with that 290 bullshit every day. since they built the mopac bridge over william cannon its easier to get back in there, but it does me no good now
all that being said, summer weather + college girls + barton springs = all worth it
