I once thought that there was nobody out there who analyzed game engines / stats etc. better than SkyDog, but I have a guy who just put the current version of PureSim through a pretty amazing amount of rigorous analysis. Maybe it's really SkyDog with a pseudonym :)
Check out this post (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1111741) (especially the attached Powerpoint and supporting data breaking stuff down in detail)

Can someone post a link to Jim Rome on the guy who wants to record every play in baseball history?
Well, it looks like that info should help. Good heavens.

I think some docter once told me that the evil siamese twin was on the right. We'll just have to check their scars.

After that shouldn't SkyDog's name be changed to SkyPuppy? :D Man, that is insane, all I looked at was his slide show and just sat there laughing. That amount of detail is amazing.

Actually, since the only ran a 16 team association, shouldn't that void his findings? You have a much smaller sample of players when you are only running 16 teams. I would imagine, the talent pool to be different in a 30 team league.

The Golden Beta Tester. I have to give him his props for that kind of analysis.

Impressive stuff, none the less. Just as impressive is how on track the PureSim stats are already.
I'm interested if any of the beta testers here can comment on any degree of predictability (or lack of it) in player development. Is it easy to spot talent? Are there busts? Do players have different development curves?

That guy is good but can he ban people as well as SD can? ;)
Where was that guy back when FB Pro 99 needed that kind of beta testing? :(

I haven't played long enough to track any trends in player development, but I've just discovered a very cool feature called "ratings history." It's basically a graphic representation of player development over the years... very, very cool stuff.

I am beta testing, but I haven't been really trying to manage my team, just hammer on the new features.
In past editions, I would say that player development wasn't that tough, because the AI teams undervalued prospects - so while there are a lot of players who 'bust', you could always hoard so many that you were sure to end up with enough good players out of your system. I know that Shaun has recently posted that he agrees that the AI GMs need to value high potential prospects more then they have in the past.

Please don't blame the beta testers for that, they released despite all the problems being reported in beta. :(

This is with the latest version of PureSim Gold 2005. Not sure how much has changed from 05 to 06.. I did see a can't miss prospect do just that, but I was quick simming out a few years..
