Stupid, Irrelevant ?? of the Day

It is a WHIP logging on every time (my profile, it seemed, made me think my settings would log me on automatically each time, but it doesn't) I return, so I don't log out all the time. Stupid ?? of the day:

Does the server/ site know I'm not here, or am I listed for hours even when not actually here?

Nah, the TCP connection will time out. HTTP does hold a session, but its only good for some configurable amount of time.
