Florida man, 76, fingered in door-to-door free screen scheme

APRIL 19--Meet Philip Winikoff. The 76-year-old Florida man was arrested this morning and charged with sexual battery after he posed as a doctor and went door-to-door--black doctor's bag in hand--offering women free breast exams. According to a Broward County Sheriff's Office report (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0419062doc2.html), two women--ages 33 and 36--fell for the scam, which Winikoff allegedly ran in Lauderdale Lakes. Charged with several felonies, Winikoff was booked into the sheriff's lockup, where the below mug shot was snapped. Police are now investigating whether other women may have been tricked into impromptu examinations.<br>

OK - they were dumb. But there is no way in which they deserved this though. If the victims were 30 year old mentally handicapped women (or whatever the current PC term is) would you still say the same? Because in effect it would be the same - a creepy bloke taking advantage of those less intelligent than himself...

So, and please correct me if I am wrong in extrapolating this, we are talking about a man preying on the vulnerable. And you are arguing that because the victims might not be the brightest, it is either acceptable/OK to laugh at them?

Oh please. Now you are streaching just to make your argument, or else you really don't see the difference, which boggles me. Kids are not adults, we don't expect them to have fully developed their reasoning ability. Same as the handicapped. Rape is not as a result of utter mindnumbing stupidity either.

And how have you shown the difference was 'obvious'? It's ok to laugh at a guy who kills himself by doing something dumb. Is it ok to laugh at a 10 year old dying the same way? What about some handicapped person? Seems like a huge bowl of hypocrisy to me.
