I'd been pretty good about keeping teams infused with cash in Baseball Mogul 2007. Neglected to do it for one season, and Florida (who must've been in the black, but only just barely for me to have missed them otherwise) lost the following player because they were $6.5m in the red and couldn't even afford arbitration:

Good gravy, but that hurts just to think about.

Dola,
I'm a little concerned now, as I reloaded a previous save file from the day before free agency began and edited the Marlins to have $16.5m in cash, and this guy is still in the free agent pool. What the hell was his arbitration number that they wouldn't even hold onto him for that?

Except for FM, it seems like every text sim's roster AI completely sucks. I would really like to see this addressed in FOF and other games. It's getting tiring.

I dunno... I've been beta testing PureSim, and I don't see too many superstars make it to free agency before they're in decline... just an observation...

Well on his player card it says he is seeing $17.6million, so maybe the arbitrator sided with him and the Marlins had $1.1m less than the price?

What kind of baseball game puts yearly stats in ascending order? That's an abomination!!

Heh. I had a kid at like 23 hit 70 in his rookie year in OOTP5. Poor kid needed only 1 more to tie the record with 2 weeks left...and couldn't do it.
Did it AGAIN a couple years later. Never did break the record. But THAT'S setting the bar high. :)

Yeah, but he made the show at 19. I mean, that explains the early struggles to hit for contact, but I'd say .287 is perfectly respectable for a power hitter.

If we're talking about good fake young sluggers, this kid (http://www.rwbl-ootp-online.com/league/p838.html) is pretty good.

I never noticed many in Free Agnecy in the previous version of Puresim either (although, it didn't exactly get a work out from me. I liked the game, but baseball is not my favorite sport, so baseball sims get limited playing from me)

Especially when being walked 137 times.

Looks like they brought him up to the majors a season or two too soon, not a lot of minors experience.
