would you choose Vince Young or Matt Leinart?
Latest talk is that N.O. will pass on both and Tenn has the choice (with McNair moving to another team like Balt).
I choose Leinert. Why? What type of QB brings home the SB Trophy? Tom Brady, Joe Montana type, which is closer to Leinart.

Voted Vince Young. And your argument is flawed (see Williams, Doug)

Yep, Doug Williams had one good game, but that's going way back (20 years?) to find a counter-example.

Plenty of less-than-prototypical QB's have won SB's (and not much else). Williams isn't the only one. What about Brad Johnson? Or Trent Dilfer?

I would really like to see Vince Young succeed in the NFL. That being said, I am pretty confident that Matt Leinart will, so he'd be the guy who gets my vote.

Yeah, I was going to Google Image Search "Teen Titans" but thought better of it... never know what the word "teen" will turn up when doing a search from work...

Yeah, I knew that was coming, but I can't edit the poll. You win.

they should take Leinhart if they can, i think however that they'll take Young.

Seeing what Tennessee feared with McNair, I figure they are definitely going with Leinart. Don't agree with it, but I think that is what they will do.

actually I don't see ANY similarities between Young's game and Williams at the time he won the Superbowl other then the color of their skin. Williams did not make plays with his legs, but rather with his arm.
a much more valid comparison would be STEVE Young and Vince Young - their games are FAR more similar.

Young, without hesitation.
I'm not at all convinced he's going to be an NFL great at this point, but I'm absolutely convinced that Leinart isn't ready to be an NFL quarterback due to his lack of maturity. And I'm further not convinced he'll ever grow into it.
And Young will sell tickets as the second coming of McNair (or however they decided to market it).

Wow! Agree with you on all points. I am not convinced either quarterback will be anything more than solid, but Young seems to have a better chance than Leinhart on this particular team. If Leinhart is forced to run around all day, he is not going to develop his game as fast as Young would. But that's my humble opinion.
However I am convinced that Tennessee will choose Leinart, because they fear that Young won't last as long if he takes a beating scrambling.

I can.
I would take Vince Young, but the Titans may prefer Leinart due to Norm Chow's familiarity with him.

I voted for Young for both biased and objective reasons.
However, Leinart's lack of arm strength worries me as a top 3 pick. USC lost an easy touchdown against Texas when Leinart's lack of zip allowed our safety Michael Griffin to come all the way from the center of the field to intercept the ball at the pylon.
I don't think he's a bad pick or anything. Just not a slam dunk by any stretch. Then again I'd trade down if I were any of the top 3 drafting teams.
As for the above comments, I don't really think it's a maturity thing with Leinart. I don't know enough about any of these guys to question maturity. Young and Leinart have both done some questionable things since the Rose Bowl. But I do understand why some may have that question about him.

lienart is a much better fit into the offense. young has never in his life been asked to make the kind of quick reads and rythym throws norm chow uses. he will learn, but it will take a few years
vince is a better player, but not a better fit, in this case. the team he fits in best with would be something like denver. or, a team that runs that offense, like, say, houston

Vince Young - 20/80, volatility 90, solecismic score very low
Matt Leinart - 44/75, volatility 50, solecismic score average
I would take the second one.

except its more like 40/100 for young and 60/70 for leinart.

Probably not.
But he'll sell tickets while losing whereas Leinart wouldn't.

what he does have is that psychotic competitiveness that the jordans and the birds had. its that reason beyond all others that i don't doubt for a second he'll be a success after his first few years. sure he'll make some bad deals and keep some bad people around him, but he'll work his farkin ass off for whoever drafts him. in that sense, he'll yes he's mature

This sounds really funny if you read this and imagine it being said by the voice of Randy from "My Name Is Earl."
