Ryan Leaf on Dan Patrick Show

I just listened to Ryan on the DPS, and I gotta say I was impressed with the interview. Seems like all the hell he's been through actually made him into a decent guy.

As a Chargers fan, it got me wondering how he might've turned out if he had the maturity and humility that he displays now way back then.

Yeah, I heard it too. I couldn't believe this was the same guy that yelled at a reporter. He sounded very, very mature... not like the Ryan Leaf I remember and hated.

I still feel pretty ticked that the Chargers gave up so much for this guy to be a major, major bust.

He's only now 30. If he started working out, and wanted it bad enough, he could get back into the league within 2-3 years. Wasn't his main knock that his decision making and maturity were pisspoor? He still had a big big arm IIRC.

I could see him making a decent CFL career for himself at this point, if he wanted it. But I doubt he'll ever play in the NFL again.
