OK, I'm asking you all to put on your GM caps for a few minutes. Since most of you have played FOF and its cousins, I'm sure that's no stretch for any of you.

It's the 5th round of the draft. Your most outstanding need at this point is for a kicker to either take over the kicking duties or compete with your currently signed veterans. There happens to be a kicker in the draft that meets your needs. He has a big leg and can kick with accuracy. He doesn't have any disciplinary or emotional issues, and will happily sign the standard rookie contract for the draft position.

There's only one possible complication... he is a she. And in case it matters, no, she didn't have a sex change; she's been female all along.

So, Mr. (or Ms.) GM, do you take her?

Is she hot?

I'd be hard pressed to see why anyone wouldn't.

The only reason I could see someone not taking her (if they would have taken her is she were a he) is because I could see having a female on the team doing a real job on team chemistry...

I mean, besides winning ballgames, if she has any sort of charisma at all, it'll help sell tickets, jerseys and all that. What's the downside? That she changes in a different locker room before the game? Big deal.

If she's got 5th round talent, then yes.

Is she Kathy Ireland?

Course, I dunno if I want a woman around who kicks balls for a living.

Since kickers are always really popular and a huge effect on the team chemistry;) . Seriously, if she can do the job better than anyone else, shes hired. At another position, I may have to think a little more, but thats also less in the realm of possiblity.

I'm confused by the question. Do we know that it is a female kicker? Or is it a post-op transexual? Or just a tranny?

Yeah, why not? Kickers aren't really part of the "team" anyway. Good ones are important to have, but they're not exactly a critical part of team chemistry.

No, not unless I'm a lock to be right at the very bottom of the league in the upcoming season.

It'd turn the team into a media circus and 5th round quality kickers aren't that hard to find. Only way I'd do it might be if I couldn't currently give away tickets and figured she'd be enough of a circus attraction to help with that.

There's no such thing as bad publicity, Jon. If the girl can take the heat, and not be too bothered by the rest of the team getting a little contemptuous over the attention on her, then go for it.
