Found a link at SI's site where someone has made the USL 1 playable. He also has the MLS/ULS1 set up as a relagation . I just downloaded it and am going to go on holiday for a couple of years to test.

If anyone is interested , the discussion is in the "Editors Hideaway" forum over at SI's site.

Here is the link to the download:

Interested to see what others think.

After being on holiday for 5 seasons and taking over Seattle of the USL for the past 8 months here are my first impressions of this patch.

-Game itself is stable, no crashes.

-MLS Draft is gone. All USL and MLS teams rely on their training grounds, youth academy, for all players.

-Sallary cap is gone. Which has resulted in players staying in North America rather then going over seas.

-Max nuumber of forerigners is now 5 total. No problem here.

-All teams now only have a Under 19 squad, no reserve team. Little problem with this but I can manage.

-After going through every USL and MLS team it appears finances are going to play a big factory. All teams were either "OK" or "Insecure/Very Insecure". My Seattle team for instance was $790k in debt when I took them over.

Overall I am having a blast. The LA Gallaxy were relagated in the third season (they won promotion the next year) with 2 players making over $7000k a week and another 5 making over $3000k. While Rochester came with in 4 points of winning the MLS while only having 4 players making over $1000. Their highest paid was $1800...As for my team, I have my work cut out as the finance problem is going to rear its ugly head before to long (if I can avoid relagation). I have a good core of players with my top striker leading the USL in goals the past 3 seasons and some decent youngsters.

I am some what new to the MLS and the football world in general so I am sure I am missing some other key issues that others would catch. But I really have to say this has gotten me back on the FM pipe and I am looking forward to getting home tonight and getting the kids to bed so I can get back at it.

Sounds interesting, it's just a shame that the ladder system will never be implemented in the American soccer leagues.

Would the change only be reflected in new games or it is something that can be applied to existing careers? I'd really like to try it out, but I'm very reluctatant to abandon my existing career.

good question, I did not try to load my existing carreer as I started a new game. I will check tonight but I would guess you would have to start fresh.
