So cleaning out my room this evening, I found an old notebook that had the draft results (well, some of the draft results) of the first Fantasy League I was ever in -- a Fantasy Basketball league back in 1998. With the #5 overall pick (10 team, serpentine draft), I drafted the following team:
1. Gary Payton (PG, Seattle SuperSonics)
2. Tim Hardaway (PG, Miami Heat)
3. Mitch Richmond (SG, Washington Wizards)
4. Rick Smits (C, Indiana Pacers)
5. Charles Barkley (PF, Houston Rockets)
6. Jamal Mashburn (SF, Miami Heat)
7. Detlef Schrempf (F, Seattle Supersonics)
8. Joe Smith (F, Minnesota Timberwolves)
9. Kerry Kittles (G, New Jersey Nets)
10. Kevin Willis (C/F, Toronto Raptors)
11. Kenny Anderson (G, Boston Celtics)
12. Anthony Peeler (G, Minnesota Timberwolves)
I have the draft results of three other teams from that league:
1. Shaquille O'Neal (#1 overall pick)
2. Tom Gugliotta
3. Juwan Howard
4. Terrell Brandon
5. Glenn Robinson
6. Nick Van Exel
7. Isaac Austin
8. Kobe Bryant
9. Brent Barry
10. Chrisian Laettner
11. John Starks
12. Chauncey Billups
1. David Robinson (#2 overall pick)
2. Allen Iverson
3. Toni Kukoc
4. Steve Smith
5. Vin Baker
6. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
7. Mookie Blaylock
8. Tracy Murray
9. Theo Ratliff
10. Charlie Ward
11. Dale Davis
12. Lindsay Hunter
1. Tim Duncan (not sure)
2. Michael Finley
3. Stephon Marbury
4. Antonio McDyess
5. Corliss Williamson
6. Derek Coleman
7. Doug Christie
8. Jason Caffey
9. Paul Pierce
10. Erick Dampier
11. Lamond Murray
12. Derek Fisher
The team that drafted Tim Duncan won the league, and I took 2nd place. Not a bad showing :)
Not sure why I posted this, but I figured there would be at least a person or two here that would appreciate this. It also seemed kind of wrong to just throw the information away -- there's the packrat in me showing it's head.
