I'm in the market for a new web host for work. We house a lot of stuff internally, but some clients want a more robust setup than our little server room.
So...I'm looking for reccommendations for a quality web host that can provide us with a *shudder* Windows box (fucking IIS) for web hosting. Doesn't need to be ultra super duper, just needs to be reliable and with a company I can actually get ahold of should things go wrong.
Since I pretty much never look for anything but linux hosts, I'm not really in the know for a decent windows host. So, it's time to hit up the gang for some reccommendations.

GoDaddy has some of the best support around. You get lots of good features and great support for a fairly reasonable price.

I use aspnix.com They're IIS. So long as you stay away from vizaweb.com (they used to be good and then lost their minds..) you'll be okay tho.

PHP/mysql?
Hurricane Electric. (he.net). Used them for a bajillion small clients, cheap linux shell access, free secure certificate, never had a problem with 'em.

It just so happens that 1and1 is currently running a 20th anniversary sale. The various packages are 50% off for the first three months. Depending on the amount of space and traffic you anticipate, you can start with 10GB of drive space and 300GB of transfer each month for about $50 per year. I have the 250GB of space and 2.5TB of transfer package and it runs me $10 per month.

How do most hosts handle scalability? I've got a little project I'm working on that is going to start out very small. However, there is always the potential that it could blow up and I'd need to increase my bandwidth usage limit by 100x or so. I'm guessing the bigger more established hosts are the way to go here, but are there any other considerations?

You need to click "more features" at the bottom of the core features column.
1and1 only allow databases up to 100mb, which is why we discounted them when we were thinking of moving away from gamespy a few years back.

When we need IIS we use http://www.maximumasp.com/
They have everything from virtual to dedicated servers. Never had a problem with them, always good support.
We have 4 servers in one rack with them behind their own firewall. They allowed us to configure a site to site VPN connection to our location so logging in and managing our servers is easy and secure.

Dola,
Sorry didn't see this was now PHP/MySQL
For that I use http://apisnetworks.com/ for most of my sites. Good support, very flexible options.

I wouldn't mind asp/sql but I'm going on the assumption that anything MS is going to be far more expensive per month.

Let me know which one you go with and how it works out, Bonegavel. I'm considering moving the Shiba Football site. We're currently on HostRocket and I'm not too happy with it.

How much bandwidth do you use a month? (doing an awesome job with the league!)

With HostRocket, it appears to be all about which server you ended up on, with the older servers (shockingly) being better.
I first signed up with them about 5 years ago for my personal site, which I never really used much, but that site always had awesome uptime and no problems.
Then, about two years ago I opened another account for another site and while it was generally OK, I definitely noticed a lot more downtime and random problems.
Their support (for me) was generally pretty good.
Anyway, since I wanted to expand the number of sites I had, and I wanted to roll them all into one account (which appeared to require a convoluted process as HostRocket) I did some research and HostGator appeared to be a) what I was looking for and b) good for what I was looking for, so I'm now with them, and have been since December. So good, so far.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm running just under 2 gigs / month.
And Flere's comment about HostRocket makes sense. I was on Host 77 for a couple of years, with only a few issues. Then I was moved to Host 97, which has been iffy.
Also, they've been claiming they'll be migrating to PHP 5 for months now, and it hasn't happened yet.
I'll investigate Host Gator, Apisnetworks, Hurricane Electric, and 1and1.

FYI I've used Dreamhost for about 2-3 years they have had PHP5 for well over a year and other then myself I also know that Ron (vtub) and Brian (bsak16) have also used them (In the Bleachers) both upon my recommendations. I've not even asking for you to use my referral, which is why I didn't include it. I've used a number of hosts in the past. 1and1 (hated their control panel), MyQth and Hostroute (the use cp if you know what that is, it's nice but no frills), and a couple others to name a few.
