Since the previous thread was deleted, just so we don't have any one else fall for it, there is a "press release" making the rounds that OOTP Developments has cancelled OOTP2006 and is planning to release OOTP2007 on all consoles next spring.
This is blatantly untrue, and unfortunately, at least one site has fallen for it. This seems to be a dedicated effort by a jackass, he had tried it on another game board I hang out at..
So, no, OOTP2006 is not cancelled, and is still on schedule to release at the end of the month (as far as I know :D))

Sorry about posting that moronic statement about OOTP, I should have checked their site out first.. Sorry about that, I deleted it as soon as I check it...
That said, now I'm very happy again that it's coming out and I read on their site it should be out by the end of May:) :)

Not your fault, Husker, if it shows up on a normally-credible site that's their bad for not vetting their news release sources properly. It had me fooled (not to mention mystified, given how close the game is to release) for a minute, too.
I've noticed something weird, but I'm not sure it's worth bothering with since I'm leaving next month.
I've been told "he's going to come out due to injury" or however they say it, three or four times in a row and the player does not come out.
The player does show up injured, but it's the "orange" variety, where he's basically day to day.
Yeah, OT, I know, but it is OOTP.

Sadly this is not the first time that we've been the victim of such a hoax and our lawyers are involved. If any of you see the press release make it to other sites please let me know. I've contacted Rainier at Worthplaying to get the offending item removed.

Wow...that's pretty bold to go creating an email of the guy.
What tools.

The one at Worthplaying has been removed but at least one other site has fallen for it.

Jeez, does nobody verify this stuff? I used to be the content manager at a financial news website, and if I had ever let a hoaxed press release about a public company show up on our front page, I'd have been cleaning out my desk by the end of the day.
