I wandered into Kentia Hall during some downtime, and came across a few products that looked like they'd actually be worth reviewing.
One of the reviews should go live tonight - a nifty keyboard attachment for those of you who play PC games, be they FPS or MMO, whatever. I turned Jason loose on that one, and he's got the review done already.
I also came across a beverage cooler called the "Cool It Chiller."
It's a USB device that plugs into USB ports - which means PC and Mac, and according to the packaging, PS2 and Xbox 360 (and believe me, I'm going to try it with those as well).
I'm actually fairly impressed so far. I just plugged it in about three minutes ago and put a room temperature Mountain Dew on the pad, and it's already getting cold, even with no ice in the glass. Supposedly the pad keeps it at around 45 degrees, but I suspect that claim is based upon pre-refrigeration/ice in the glass. If the drink is already cold, the pad will keep it that way. I'd be very surprised if it managed to cool a room temperature beverage to 45 degrees, but I'm going to keep an eye on it.
Anybody have prior experience with this or something like it who can speak to whether or not I can expect it to do that?
