I'll be unplugging the computer and signing off shortly in preparation for our move to Kentucky. We've got a wedding in Orlando this weekend, a quick trip to Disney World, then the movers come on Tuesday, I'm driving with the family over to Jacksonville where they'll be staying for the next month or so, then I drive up to Lexington next Thursday. And my 45 lb. box of bar review materials showed up yesterday. You could say I'll be a tad busy for the next 7 days...
I'll still be able to access the forum from my Blackberry but I doubt I'll post anything. So if any teachers throw end-of-the-year sex parties, someone please cover for me in the child molester thread. :)

Hope all goes well. I'll get in touch with you in a week and we'll talk more about the Bluegrass region.

I'm back online! Talk about an insane 9 or so days. Everything went well with the wedding and the move. The house seems to be going slower than I'd like, though, but we'll see.
I drove up here 11 hours on Thursday, then had a bizarre thing happen on my "first" day in the office (I've been working for almost 2 months, but remotely). I ended up going to a dinner/reception in Prestonsburg, KY (eastern KY, in the Appalachians) last night, thrown by a big firm client. It was a 2.5 hour drive, so we didn't get back until after midnight. What a beautiful drive, though - I can't wait to make this drive in the Fall when the colors change. Anyway, the emcee for the night was Jeff Sheppard, fomer UK basketball star. He and my brother were best friends in elementary and middle school, and he used to live right around the corner from us. We moved as they entered high school, so I followed him with amazement because when I knw him, he was just some puny kid who played sports with my brother.
Needless to say, he was shocked when I told him who I was. It was pretty cool to show up on the first day of my new life in Kentucky and not only run into someone I know, but someone as important in Lexington as Jeff. I think I impressed the colleagues I was with! I've seen it with football players in Tallahassee as well - it's amazing what a college championship will do for you. Sheppard's a motivational speaker and event emcee and lives about an hour south of Lexington.
OK, I've got some catching up to do...

I've heard of having extracurriculars to impress the new associates but that might be going a bit too far!!!
Honestly though, glad things went well.. I saw a moving truck this morning and was thinking back to my move last year. What a headache!!

Anyone who ever played basketball for UK automatically becomes a star (esp. in the eastern half). Anyone who was a star for UK can make it as a motivational speaker even their regular job is whittling toothpicks. All anyone has to do is say they played for UK and you would treated like the greatest deity ever in that state and be made an honorary Colonel, which is the highest goal in life for those living in that state.
