visit San Diego, California and then try to explain to justify why you would want to live anywhere else. I can't wait to get my shit together and move out there.

Wisconsin?

I'm surprised no has suggested the state of inebriation. :)

If you're between the ages of 16-20:

Myrtle Beach, the beginning of June. You'll get laid so much you wont have time to think. Nothing like girls graduating high school, insanely vulnerable. Not that I know...

Definitely the best place to vacation.

Myrtle Beach, the beginning of June

Ahhh.. brings back memories of the Marines and Camp Lejeune!

I had a brand new Yamaha FZR 600 back then and I think it took like 2 mins to have a hottie on the back of it when I got there. My friend had a brand new Camero, but he finally begged me to take my bike. He returned a half hour later with a nice looking chic on the back. :)

It is the wild as it should be, Alaska is the most unblemished state (cept for the Valdez and pipeline thing)...

I'd prefer to go to Melbourne, Australia has states too y'know...

I've been to Florida and Tennessee a combined 9 million times. I'm burnt out on those vacation spots (fam in Florida, my dad's condo in Gatlinburg, Tennessee). Actually Gatlinburg is a great vacation spot.

But I'd like to go out to Cali one day.

I've been to many of the states, so I'd prefer to go overseas if I do anymore vacationing. Niagra Falls, Grand Canyon, and the great San Diego weather were the best experiences of vacationing to me.

I had never been to Utah before last summer, and I must admit, the national parks (Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion) were absolutely incredible. That was the best "surprise" vacation spot I've encountered.

Perhaps this is what you were getting at chief, but given Wisconsin's per capita alcohol consumption rates some have suggested that Wisconsin change it's state slogan from "America's Dairyland" to "State of Inebriation."

I guess "some" might be putting it too strongly. Mostly it's me and my cat making the suggestion. ;)

I couldn't agree more. Bryce, in particular, took my breath away. And I couldn't get over how close our campground was to the canyon itself - about 200 feet! Highly recommended.

I moved from Cleveland, Oh to San Diego this past August. Let me tell you that the weather is amazing!! The weather man are just robots saying 75 and sunny. BUT I think it’s overrated. The cost of living is ridicules and no it’s not relevant because you make more $$$. You take a house in Cleveland and you triple the real estate and that’s about how much a house goes for out here. I have to rent because I just can’t afford a house and I’m paying over 1K/month for a 1 bedroom apt.

Also, the traffic is unbearable. During “rush hour” (which last 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM for the morning commute and 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM for your evening commute) is insane. Even on the weekends you will hit a lot of traffic.

All in all it’s been a good experience but I don’t see myself out here to much longer…

When it's 95 with 98% humidity in [pick a month between April and October], I'd love to go to Vancouver. I know that's not a state, but it's where I want to go. If I had to pick a state, I'd say Montana or somewhere in the NW. Anywhere but here.

When I was in Alaska, first part of July, they were playing Little League games at 11:00pm...without light stands needed. (it may have something to do with not being able to play for 10 months out of the year. They gotta get the games in somehow

Ditto, where is Alaska? What an awesome place. If only I could get my wife to move there and still be able to attend UCF Football & Hoops Games..

Either there or the Yukon or Northwest Territories of Canada. Anyone ever made it up that far?

As for places actually on the list, I'd say New York, just because I've never been there. (Yes, I've been to the near northern most parts of Canada but never to what can be considered the capital city of the world.. :D

Some comments:

Colorado has been my dream state ever since I first visited it in 1983. I was very blessed that 6 years later, I was able to get a great job and have been here ever since. It is also easily one of the most visited states in the US.

I have been all of the states except two (SC and ND) and right now, the one I really want to vacation to is Louisiana.

I lived in San Diego for 8 years (my parents lived there for over 20 years). It truly is America's Finest City but the emphasis is on city. The metro area has about 2 million people and while you have the ocean, mountains and desert nearby, you really have to deal with people and traffic everywhere. The weather was great but I also like true seasons. It really is too expensive to live there, compared to most other places but it is a great place to vacation. LA sucks, don't go there.

In about 4-6 years, my wife and I will take our son and leave Colorado for a lifestyle change. We already know where we want to spend the rest of our lives. In a small town in New Hampshire.

Myles: New York is much, much more than New York City. Upstate New York is truly one of our country's treasured areas and a lot of visitors are surprised at the immense areas of ruralness and beauty of the Finger Lakes, Leatherstocking and Adirondack regions.

Damn, if you would have said a small town in Wisconsin, I'd offer to trade with you ... location and houses that is, not wives.
