I can't remember the last time I did that, but it's got to have been years. There was just an unbelievable amount of crap in that thing, but it controls so much better now.

Should be easier making Gamenikki images, at least.

I never understood the appeal of the trackball...

It curves to my hand much more easily than does a regular mouse.

It's just a comfort thing.

I'll give up my trackball when you pry it out from under my cold dead hand...

Count me there as well.

I'm lazy. I don't have to move my whole arm to move a cursor with a trackball.

Besides I have about 6 square inches of space on my very cluttered desk. The trackball is the only way to go.

I just killed my optical mouse at work. had to steal somebody's ball mouse. no backbuttons, and it's about as precise as...it's not precise at all. I am in hell.

no wrist strain and better control once you get used to it (can't take more than 2 days).

My logitech trackball is the motherfucking shit. And wireless... you really would have to fight me and win to take it away from me.

I use the Logitech thumbball and I can't imagine using anything else anymore.

Backbuttons? Never heard of such a thing. If I need to go back on a page, I can always right click twice.

I don't know as I'd want to do any twitch gaming with this thing, but then, I don't twitch-game much on a PC anyway.

And FWIW, it's a Logitech.

I hate trackballs. Maybe the one that my brother in law had sucked, but the couple times I tried to install some stuff on his computer I was going insane.

I think the finger strain vs. the wrist strain is the issue. I have small fingers, so maybe that's it... I just never liked the trackball.

Never had a problem with that, but I've always had monster hands to begin with.

I like that one, reminds me of the white one I use to have years ago. I thought they stopped making them.

I'm startled that people still use those.

I was forced to use one for a month a few years ago (my optical broke, so I borrowed a friend's), and it was the biggest piece of crap ever. It hurt the tendons in my wrist, it was inprecise, and the side button-clicking was a pain in the ass.

I was just looking at the newer trackballs, and they don't look nearly as bad as the one I used. Maybe they've improved over the years.

I made the optical switch and I'm a pretty big fan of it. I had a friend use my computer recently and tried to say my mouse didnt work. I just said he didn't know how to use an optical mouse. But yeah, I've often forgotten the difference since all the labs have optical mice too.

i win. i have an optical gyro-mouse. doesn't even need to be on a surface to work. you can hold it up in the air and use it.
