Okay, I haven't used my cell phone on a regular basis in about two years so I'm not much up on new technology. Lately I've seen a lot of people walking around with ear cell phones. I have no idea how they work. Do they use a cell phone? How do you dial? Because the microphone is about an inch or two away from your ear, can the other people hear you?

Other than those questions, I just gotta say that the people walking around the Mall look stupid. They all remind me of that guy who was Lando Calrissian's flunky in the Cloud City.

See, the sound travels up this thingy called a "wire" and goes into this thingamabob in your ear, called an "ear piece." Then you hear it. Heh.

Some of them are bluetooth wireless. I have no idea how they work, I just know they make you look like a douchebag.

Your cell phone has to have bluetooth capabilities in order for those...annoying things that people feel they have to wear because they are so important that they are constantly on the phone even though when you see them they never are...to work.

Seconded. Even if you have a good reason for using one (which is rare), you still look like a pompous ass.

I really only pay attention to new technologies in the hope that someday I will be able to purchase extra RAM for my brain. If it's not about that, I don't really take in the details.

Thirded. I can't stand the morons who walk around with those things.

For the sake of saying so, they're incredibly useful in the car, especially for those states with hands-free laws.

I just got one for this very reason(not the hands free laws, the car...). I just started a new job and my commute went from 10 minutes to 40 each way. There is no way in hell I want to be fiddling with a cell phone on I-285 in rush hour, but at least I can answer if I have to and not have to worry about anything else. I never put it on outside of the car though, b/c I do indeed feel like a douche when I have it on.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks they look stupid (outside of being in a car).
