I have been wanting to get a new tattoo for a while, and I'm going out with a friend tonight while she gets some design added to back tattoo. I'm thinking that instead of getting a new one, I'll modify/change the one on my ankle which is a turquoise butterfly by changing the color and/or adding something (like a flower) to it. I don't want much b/c I don't want it real big (it's about a square inch now, I could do a little bigger but not much). Does anyone have experience with this?

I had a Texas A&M tattoo on my right arm - like their helmet logo - but after I went to UT for grad school, I had a big "E" tattooed on either side.

In all seriousness, olie, I think your results will be directly proportional to the skill of the artist and how much you want to alter the existing work. Adding to a tattoo isn't an issue, but changing one significantly can be tough. Also, if you change color, I believe you have to go to a darker pigment.

Excursion # 1 was a failure, the tattoo place was closed, so we hit another one and they were pulling out of the parking lot as we pulled in. We might try again tomorrow. I looked online for designs and found a couple that I really like, I'll see what they come up with as far as adding to my existing one, and if I don't like it then I have 3 ideas for new ones and have figured out where I want it. I'll post pics once it's done :)

Ditto what Todd said on all counts.
Good luck with it! :) I'm itching for more, too. :)
