I know it had to be someone from here.

I just got te mail and I received a letter from Kenebunk, Maine, saying I received a parking violation in July of 2004. This is my second notice. It has the license plate number for my one car, and so of course it is in my name. They say failure to pay within 5 days would mean it would get sent to a Collection Agency, and I may be given a citation ordering me to appear in court (this sounds like a warrant, which would be very bad with my job, and the letter is dated as being sent in April so five days is up).

One problem. I have never been to main in my car. I have never been to main on the truck. I have never been there in my life. My wife hasn't either. It's kind of far.

So one of you did it I think. :(

Ping: George W Bush

I think his dad has a place near Kennebunk. If it wasn't him, it might have been one of his daughters or brothers.

Judging by the location it was probably Teddy Boy Kennedy going on a run for drinks and drugs.......good thing there were no bridges for him to attempt to cross.

Good point. The Bush daughters probably had a few drinks. I am in Texas, so they just took my car and went to see Dad or Grandpa. Mystery solved.

Maybe they got the state wrong.. Alot of people have vanity plates that read - ASSMAN

Anyways... seriously... call and ask for a copy of the original ticket. Should have the make and model listed.

Or.. someone is just trying to scam you out of $$$.

I don't think it's a scam, if it was they should ask for more then $25. I have a problem with the fact it wasn't me or my car, and I don't want a warrant out for me because of it.

I do want a copy of the ticket I think. I am thinking along the lines of what you are actually, that something had to have been written down wrong. Either the plate number or the state.

2 years old and only $25? Hmmm.. sounds odd. Hell, I got a parking ticket in my city (winter parking violation) and it went from $10 to $25 in 7 days if you didn't pay it and most places do this so, $25 after 2 years sounds a little odd. Plus, some people won't put alot of effort into looking into just $25.. they will just pay it and move on.

Well, the contact info is the Kennebunk PD, Harbor Master, and City Hall. Along with there website and City Hall address to mail payment to. So if it's a scam, it's the city doing it because everythinghas checked out so far as legit.

Ahh... ok. Was thinking it was the collection agency that was already contacting you. Misread that...

It probably helps if you know how to spell the name of the state that is sending you a ticket that you have never been too.
