At the MGM Grand. Kind of hidden on the Casino floor among some slots, roughly between the Tiger cage and the sports book. There is a game where you can sit and make quarter bets on little horses that run around a track. If you only bet 25c at a time, you are not spending much money, and you still get free beers from the waitresses. A pretty good deal.

Thanks to Quik and John Galt for pointing it out to me when I went.

I find it sad that I honeymooned in Vegas, but never knew about this. I imagine my honeymoon enjoyment would have increased by at least 17.2% if I had known. :(

Did you bet on the 7 horse?

It's the 4 horse. They put little kids on the 4 horse.

Those aren't kids, those are werewolves. Little Mini werewolves.

I don't think there are midget werewolves. That's only in the movies.

What, I suppose Shortround was actually a werewolf thus dispelling two myths?

That would actually be three. Asian Werewolfs? Come on. Now you're just getting ridiculous.

Have you tried explaining through the use of a diarama?

So is it mechanical, or is it on an electronic machine. I kept asking around about this while I was in Vegas...and everyone kept saying that those mechanical games were a thing of the past and they didn't have them anymore and I was super pissed...because I read about them on here and really wanted to play. I was going to yell at the horses and cause a scene.

I'm pretty sure there's one in NY NY as well. Just inside the foyer by the sports book...

It's mechanical, and, according to the guy sitting next to me at the machine at 6:30 in the morning who looked and sounded like he had logged about 20,000 hours at these things over the course of his life, it is the only one left in town. Apparently, slots make more money than these mechanical machines, so they are going the way of the dodo. But, it was still there when I went in February.

Well, the NY NY one was there around three years ago...

It was gone last time I was there. :(

After trumpeting these in the past, I couldn't even find the MGM one last time (I mentioned it in a thread somewhere). I'm pretty sure the MGM machine is the last on the strip.

The Las Vegas Hilton used to have one of those mechanical horse thingies too. I haven't been there in several years, so I don't know if they still have it.
