Poll: What Should I cook my wife for dinner?

My wife has cooked dinner every night in the new home. Today, I have an unexpected day off. I want to cook something for dinner that will be tasty, romantic, and within my moderate cooking skills. What should I cook?

Chicken Parm, my family's favorite dish.

Take boneless, skinless chicken breasts and trim off any fat/skin and cut out the cartlidge.

Lay each piece on a cutting board, put some plastic wrap on the first piect and using a meat tenderizer, lightly pound out each side. Lightly, don't make them a pile of mush. :)

Heat a skillet over med-high heat and add some good olive oil - I use extra virgin, but any kind will work. Take each piece of chicken and rub some fresh garlic on both sides (I use the kind already minced and in olive oil) - just a little on each side, then coat in Italian bread crumbs. By not wetting the chicken, it makes it a really light coating.

Brown on each side and put into a baking dish.

Heat oven to 400 degrees and pour you favorite spaghetti sauce over the chicken. Also sprinkle on parmesan cheese and then top with mozzerella cheese.

Bake until cheese is melted (about 20-30 mins) and then broil until cheese is lightly browned on top.

I usually serve with a salad, garlic bread, and angel hair pasta tossed in butter, parm cheese, and parsley.

I'm leaning towards the Chicken Parm just because it is probably the dish that I cook the best. I seem to have problems getting Shrimp to come out as well as I would like when I cook them.

See, that's why you have to give her a good steak. You've got a number of manly things going there:

1) You get to play with fire. Taming fire is a manly thing. If you can show your wife you can tame fire, maybe she'll let you tame her!

2) Meat is a manly food. You prepare it with fire. That is a manly tool. Plus, if you prepare good meat, maybe she'll be in the mood for more meat later!

The key to shrimp is to pull them from the pot/pan/grill about 2 minutes before you think they're really done, shrimp will "carry over" heat and finish cooking quite nicely on the plate.

When you THINK they're ALMOST done, yankem =)
